Assistant Executive Director For more than two decades, Navitas has accelerated the internationalization of university campuses around the globe, providing international students greater opportunity and access to high-quality learning experiences. Navitas is seeking to employ an Assistant Executive Director to join our growing North American team at the University of Idaho in Moscow ID. The Assistant Executive Director (AED) is responsible for assisting and supporting the Executive Director to oversee the strategic academic and administrative functions of the assigned Navitas Business Unit (BU) and for managing successful business relationships with appropriate stakeholders at the host university. This role includes: management of day to day operational aspects including staffing, budgets and planning as related to the Academic program and student administration; ensuring quality educational outcomes, and management, mentoring and leadership of Student Affairs Staff.

Key Responsibilities 

Support the Executive Director in overall BU leadership.



Acts on behalf of the Executive Director during times the ED is off campus.



Overall management of the quality assurance regime and the provision of leadership and management of Student Affairs staff.



Promote professional development of all staff including part-time faculty.



Ensure effective performance reviews for all student support staff.



Full oversight of student performance outcomes, support programs and other processes such as dismissals, appeals, probations, leaves and scholarships.



Full oversight of faculty orientation, training and development and course outcomes, class offerings are appropriate for timely progression.



Maintains regular contact and provides support to faculty.



General knowledge of other BU areas such as marketing, admissions and finance.



Works with the partner institution to ensure teaching expectations are met.



Present and maintain a favorable public and external image for the Navitas Pathway Program



Work effectively within and provide leadership to a cross-functional team environment.



Carry-out the overall strategic goals, manage a robust quality assurance regime.



Develop and enhance strategic alliances with the host university.



Monitor academic standards and ensure that the Navitas Pathway Program maintains an appropriate level of quality in the learning program and academic outcomes according to the needs of all customers, regulatory agencies and the host university.



Assists the Executive Director of the overall management and provision of best practice, levels of customer service, care to students and business unit outcomes.



Other duties as required.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience •

Master’s degree required in educational administration, management or related field/s, preferably in international education;



8-10 years of management and leadership experience;



Leadership and management skills at both strategic and operational levels, including effective management of resources, financial and people;



Strong experience in student affairs and academic administration;



Highly developed interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills;



Ability to communicate ideas effectively; proactive organizational and analytical skills;



Proven ability to build a team and provide strong leadership;



An understanding of the US higher education sector;



Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, internet and intranet technologies, and email;



Valid passport and ability to travel occasionally internationally and domestically equivalent to 5% of the time;



Legal right to work in the USA.

Desirable Skills •

Experience in a multicultural environment;



Experience in the international student environment;



Understanding of pathway programming, marketing and recruitment;



Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills.
