BRIEF FOR SOLICITATION NO. 1093 FOR LABORATORY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM December 2, 2014 1. DESCRIPTION: Attached is an Invitation for Bid for the Commission to obtain a Contractor who will provide laboratory informatics solution for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). The solution will support the operations of the central Laboratory Services Group and key operating groups of WSSC including: Water Production Plants, Wastewater Treatment Plants, the Systems Control Group, the Environmental Group, the Regulatory Services Group, and the Utilities Services Group. Although this RFP may specifically refer to a LIMS as the desired informatics solution, the Offeror is invited to propose a solution that incorporates other informatics products, e.g., Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELNs) and Scientific Data Management Systems (SDMS), if they are appropriate to an effective informatics solution. 2.
