ATTENDANCE CONTRACT Attendance in all classes is mandatory. Students must attend every class or risk receiving a failing grade. Attendance, including tardies, will be recorded for each class. 2 absences (including tardies): report to Navitas program administration 3 absences (including tardies): written warning 4 absences (including tardies): failing grade If you are 1-15 minutes late to class you will be marked tardy. If you are more than 15 minutes late to class you will be marked absent. Note: The attendance policy includes any breaks and leaving early. You may not return from any break late or leave the class before it ends. Arriving back to class late from break or leaving class early will result in being marked tardy or absent. Therefore, even a student who comes to class everyday may receive a failing grade if he or she accumulates tardies. All classes have a percentage of the grade for attendance and participation. This can easily help elevate your grade just by attending class. Don’t let this drag your grade down. ASSIGNMENTS Students will normally not be permitted to hand in assignments late. Students who hand in assignments past their due date will normally receive a failing grade on the assignment, which may result in a failing grade for the class. Discuss any request for a late submission with the instructor. Partial points may be allowed depending on the circumstances. CELL PHONES & TECHNOLOGY Students are not permitted to use technology (cell phones, computers, IPads, etc.) unless instructed by their teachers. Students who are caught using such equipment once will have the equipment confiscated for the remainder of the class. Place phones in the silent mode – if you get a call, let them leave you a message and call them back after class. It is not appropriate to leave the class to answer your phone, nor text anyone. Give your full attention to what is going on in class! CLASS CORRESPONDENCE Students are responsible for checking and reading emails sent to them from the course instructor. Not reading or “receiving” emails from the course instructor is not a valid excuse for failing to meet class requirements. I, __________________________________________________, (print name) have read the class policy for the __________________________________________________course and agree to the terms outlined. _________________________________________________ signature _________________________________________________ date
