Audio Lecturer SAE Liverpool 16 hours per week (0.4 FTE), ongoing contract £28,000 FTE - pro-rata £11,200 (depending on qualification & experience) SAE is part of the Navitas Group, which is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, language training, student recruitment and workforce education. We are looking for a knowledgeable and engaging educator to teach audio modules and common content in SAE HE programmes under the guidance of the Programme and Academic Coordinators. The ability to supervise and guide students through audio-production protocol, etiquette, and individualised final projects at level 6 is especially desirable. Key Responsibilities: ●

Facilitating learning through a variety of methods;



Planning students’ learning experience through lesson plans and deliverable course material;



Timely marking of assessments, providing useful and on-going feedback to students;



Engaging in recruitment and outreach events through the year.

Essential Criteria: ●

Masters degree in a related field, or Hons degree and a PG Cert Education/HEA Membership (enroute to qualification with demonstrable evidence of satisfactory progress), and/or significant industry experience;



Relevant expert industry experience and proficient with industry-standard equipment and software;



Teaching experience, including the creation of session plans and preparation of materials;



Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, be a collaborative and flexible team player, highly organised and excellent time management;



Must have right to live and work in the UK.

Desirable Criteria: ●

Ability to create and build on industry links;



Experience in Project Based Learning, Flipped Classroom and other contemporary forms of facilitating learning, using technology in learning, including Virtual Learning Environments;



Ability to teach across other disciplines (including common modules and from Film, Games, Web etc.)

1. SAE provides education services to over 10,000 students and employs approximately 1500 staff. 2. Our ultimate goal is to prepare the students for a realistic work environment making the course, facilities, lecturers and the learning environment as close to the real world working environment as possible. 3. Overview and Objectives: The role of Lecturer at SAE is to inspire students to engage proactively in their own learning and to develop as both audio practitioners and employable professionals. A Lecturer provides the relevant link for students between knowledge and current industry practice, fostering a culture of questioning, reflection and evaluation. Through technological, pedagogical and content knowledge, learning is to be facilitated through a variety of methods to make learning as relevant as possible to industry needs and for all students of mixed ability. Sharing timely and meaningful feedback with them on their progress, engaging with colleagues from the Audio department and wider faculty, sharing good practice and ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment. The Lecturer will primarily teach on modules relating to audio subjects and also champion extracurricular activities in these areas. All lecturers may be required at times to teach outside of their subject areas (e.g. common modules) and upskill to achieve this. The key subject areas for all audio lecturers are: ● ●

5. Key accountabilities: Academic i. Preparation of the modules you are timetabled to facilitate, including developing and updating learning objects to be shared with students; ii.

Facilitating the students’ achievement of the Module Learning Outcomes through varied teaching methods including technical and theory classes;

iii.

Timely marking of student assessments;

iv.

Providing useful and timely feedback to students on their projects and development;

v.

Providing an engaging learning environment for your module in the Virtual Learning Environment;

vi.

Engage in recruitment and outreach events through the year. Networking and liaison

Ensure that collaborative relationships are developed within the campus and relevant teams across the UK, working and exchanging information with academic colleagues, marketing, recruitment, and other colleagues to share best practice.

7. Selection Criteria: Essential: Essential: i.

Masters degree in a related field, or Hons degree and a PG Cert Education/HEA Membership (enroute to a Masters qualification, attending with demonstrable evidence of satisfactory progress), and/or significant relevant industry experience;
