MESSAGE NOTES

23: Everyday Essentials | Part 2

He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul… Psalm 23:2-3a (NASB) Why should I let God lead me into His rest? 1. God _________________ rest for me. On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. Genesis 2:2 (NLT) The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone. Mark 6:30-32 (NLT) 2. God ___________________________ rest for me. Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy. Exodus 20:8-11 (NLT) 3. God __________________________ rest in me. Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)

GRACE NEWS September is Addiction Awareness month. On Friday, September 1, at Celebrate Recovery here at Grace Church, we will hold a special Overdose Awareness evening of worship, mourning those lost, and celebrating those who are recovering. You are invited to come and be in unity with all who are fighting this battle. School Mentors! All people interested in being mentors for this school year at JCE are asked to attend an orientation meeting in room 3, on Monday, August 28 at 6 PM. From labeling, assembling gifts, and hosting the REACH table, to setting up breakfasts! Support the Costa Rica Mission Team - Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A (1709 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral) is Monday, August 21, from 5-8 PM. Let the cashier know you are there for Spirit Night and a portion of the order will go to support the team. Families with Children ages 0-18, join us Saturday, September 30 for our first ever Family Retreat at the Riverside Retreat Center. There will be worship, camp activities, time to connect with God, and much more. $25 per person.
