Awana LIT Program Values and Commitment Form The Awana LIT program is an opportunity for Christian youth to put into practice the lessons they are learning at home, in CREW or Circuit, in student ministry, and in church. It is a learning opportunity for the LIT to provide leadership, to share the gospel, to mentor and encourage Clubbers in Christ, and to show Christian character and sportsmanship in Game Time in the Awana ministry. The LIT program will accomplish this through consistent mentoring and instruction by adult Leaders in their assigned club. The Leader for his/her assigned group will be the primary contact for the LIT. An Awana LIT will be a person of: I. Faith • Be saved and have a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be able to share your testimony in a clear and concise gospel presentation. (Please write your testimony on the back of this form). •

Model a love for God’s Word through Scripture memory.

Care for your Clubbers and mentor them by godly example, behavior, and instruction. Regularly pray for your assigned Clubbers and the Awana ministry at Faith Bible Church.

Have an enthusiastic “all in” attitude about Awana and the things of God. Be an LIT because you love God and love kids, and want to serve the Lord and others through Awana.

II. Leadership • Be with your group from the beginning of Awana until the end, actively and enthusiastically participating in all activities of the night with assigned Clubbers (Flags, Handbook, Games & Council Time) and will stay off your cell phone. Sit with your Clubbers to control distractions during Handbook and Council Time. •

Set the example: Wear the Awana LIT uniform shirt and tennis shoes (with the exception of theme night attire), be knowledgeable about the rules for games, helps, sections, rewards, etc. and be able to explain them to your Clubber.

Complete all Clubber records for attendance, sections completed, and awards obtained for the night, especially recording and reporting salvation decisions and answers to prayer.

Know what your assigned Clubbers need to accomplish to finish their books by the end of the year and assist them to meet their goals. Spend an equal amount of one-on-one time with each assigned Clubber, listening and explaining memorized Scripture. If a child has not memorized any Scripture, take the time to work with them to memorize some.

Take the initiative to be a problem solver and assist your leader in the Awana ministry. Be available to help with community outreach events like Spring Break Adventure Camp, etc.

III. Accountability • Be at club from 4:00-6:45 pm to include pre-club meetings and until most Clubbers are picked up. •

Listen carefully and attentively to your leader. Be accountable and obey their instructions.

Attend all scheduled leadership meetings and call your Club Director if you will be late or unable to attend a meeting or club night.

I agree to the above values and expectations of an Awana LIT. I personally commit to develop my God-given gifts and abilities to serve Him in the Awana Ministry this year. ___________________________________________ (Student Signature)
