BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN MECHANICAL  ENGINEERING If your ambitions include designing or building race-cars, rockets or turbo jet engines, look no further than UNH’s Mechanical Engineering program. Mechanical engineering provides a foundation of knowledge in the basic physical sciences, mechanics of solids and fluids, dynamic systems, thermal sciences, materials science, and design. This program is designed for students who want to construct real life solutions for modern day mechanical problems.

Your future If you like to solve problems and enjoy the thrill of seeing your ideas become reality, chances are you would enjoy engineering. Mechanical engineers work in specific fields such as automotive and aerospace industries. Others work in subspecialties spanning numerous industries including fossil fuel, geothermal energy conversion, nuclear, solar, and wind.

Program highlights ■■ UNH Mechanical Engineering program is ranked #100 in the USA by U.S. News & World Report 2016 ■■ The majority of UNH engineering students are involved in internships. The engineering school provides free career and internship advising services ■■ UNH is one of 12 universities with a land, sea and space research grant in the USA ■■ All engineering programs are accredited by the American Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) ■■ Students can be involved with major engineering clubs; Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE), Robotics Club and Society of Women Engineers as part of the extra-curricular activities

■■ All engineering students must complete a two-semester senior year project. There are more than 15 senior year projects which students can participate in while exploring the curriculum topics in creative ways. The majority of the research projects are funded by NASA. Some of the projects include: -- Formula 1 & Mini Baja SAE Vehicle Design -- FPF Skier and Biker Aerodynamics Force Balance -- NASA Magnetospheric MultiScale Mission TableSat 1C & Tablesat IID -- Remote Controlled Airplane (Aerocats) -- Turbojet Engine -- UNH LunaCats - NASA Lunabotics Mining -- UNH RocketCats - Data Network Deployment
