Study Fellowships Through May 29 10-11AM on Sunday Mornings at various locations throughout our facility THE INCOMPARABLE CHRIST—COLOSSIANS, meeting in MZ-2 (upstairs): Taught by Pastor Todd Pruitt The Epistle to the Colossians is about the cosmic and incomparable Christ. It is about the soul satisfying and comprehensive salvation that is found in Jesus. It is about the power and sovereignty of the Son. It contains one of the greatest Christological statements in the New Testament. But it is also a letter to a church with real people and real problems. In fact one of the primary functions of the beautifully written theology in Colossians is to correct errors that had begun to sprout up in the church through false teachers and was threatening the people’s assurance. Paul’s answer to these false teachings is that God’s people are complete in Christ; that they lack nothing outside the Son. This study of Colossians will aim to join in the doxology of Colossians and learn from its timeless encouragements and warnings. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

THE 7 CHURCHES IN REVELATION– Meeting in Multi-purpose Room East: Taught by member Joe Slater, JMU RUF pastor. Note: Class dates are March 20-May 1 This class will explore the different warnings and encouragements to the churches in the book of Revelation. Each week we will look at a different letter to one of the churches as we see the importance of maintaining a faithful witness throughout the ages. This class is for college students, college-aged and all other adults. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

THE REFORMATION BEGINS, 1500-1620 A.D.: A Survey of Church History, Part 3 meeting in the Multi-purpose Room West Facilitated by member Lyle Jacobsen We live in a world that has been profoundly shaped by events that occurred in the sixteenth century. In addition to landmark developments in economics, government, and culture, this crucial century witnessed a powerful renewal of biblical Christianity. Amid opposition and uncertainty, faithful Christian leaders expressed a passion for the gospel and a commitment to the authority of Scripture that have influenced generations of believers. This third installment of church history will bring to life the stories of those who dedicated their lives to proclaiming the truth of God's Word in the Protestant Reformation. Each class will begin with a 23-minute video lecture by Dr. Robert Godfrey followed by discussion. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

WELCOME TO COVENANT CLASS, meeting in Annex 6:

Class is taught by Pastor Burress McCombe This 11-week class is designed to introduce you to other people who attend Covenant, communicate what we believe, and show you areas of ministries in which you can be involved. Taking the Welcome to Covenant Class is a very practical way to help you discern whether or not Covenant is the church where the Lord would have you worship Him, grow in discipleship, and use your gifts to reach the world for Christ. Participating in the class does not commit you to becoming a member, but it is a pre-requisite to membership ________________________________________________________________________________________________
