The planning and implementation of this ambitious project was undertaken by Munichbased company, WML, which has proven expertise in the catering sector. Lighting designer Werner Memmel and project manager Torsten Gresens, working in conjunction with interior designer Georg Leeb, developed an integrated lighting and multimedia concept which is helping Die Hecke achieve the perfect ambience for eating, and retreating.

Die Hecke is the culmination of a four year, €12 million project which has seen an old farmhouse building transformed into a hospitality complex comprising of two specialty restaurants, a wine bar and Inn, a suite of apartments, conferencing and banqueting facilities, a beer garden, a dedicated wine cellar and even its own brewery. Needing a reliable, end-to-end audio and video distribution solution to deliver a high-quality audio-visual experience around this vast estate, WML turned to HARMAN Professional Solutions and the unrivalled switching capabilities of the award-winning AMX Enova DGX. A modular digital media switcher with a built-in central controller, the Enova DGX manages and distributes audio, video, control, and Ethernet around facility. Seamless integration between the Enova DGX and the rest of the system ensures that staff benefit from centralized control of otherwise complicated processes, giving them the ability to make a simple switch from the standard sound system to the sound output from the video stream during live, televised broadcasts.
