BELLA VISTA January 2012

Bulletin

Official Publication of the Bella Vista Homeowners Association

BOARD REPORT The Board has contracted with a new law firm to handle the HOA legal matters and their first order of business will be filing a community manual which includes policies related to the new legislative changes which include Solar Panels, Storm Shingles, Flags, Religious Displays, Rain Barrels/Rain Harvesting devises, electronic/absentee ballots, meeting notices, open records, records retention, payment plans and foreclosures. If you would like to volunteer for the committee to review and update Bella Vista policies, procedures and restrictive covenants, please contact one of the Board members. Please remember that holiday lights and decorations must be removed by January 31, 2012. Sincerely, Bella Vista HOA Board of Directors

ESD #14 OPEN BOARD POSITION Are you looking for a way to help in your community?  If you live in Emergency Services District (ESD) #14, Volente Fire Department, there is a great opportunity to become a member of the ESD Board of Commissioners.  Commissioners oversee the business of the ESD, and members come from all backgrounds- commercial sector, education, retired, etc.- and do not need a background in firefighting.  In fact, it is important to have a balance of skills and professional experience for these commissions (Examples:  finance, business management, personnel, etc.). I am looking for someone who desires to serve their community in this capacity.  Commissioner’s terms are two years, and this vacancy would begin on January 1, 2012, or whenever someone is appointed after that date, until December 31, 2013 with an opportunity to be reappointed at that later time.  Each Travis County Commissioner appoints (with the approval of the County Commissioners Court) ESD Commissioners for those ESDs located in their precinct. If you are interested in serving and/or want more information, please contact Garry Brown, my Chief of Staff, at the following: 512-854-9386 or [email protected]. To be considered for this post, please send a letter of interest and a resume to Garry.  Thank you!  I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Karen Huber, Travis County Commissioner Copyright © 2012 Peel, Inc.
