Biblical Roots & Purpose of The Elizabeth Circle Pregnancy can be an emotional time for a woman, even under the best of circumstances. She needs someone who understands the roller coaster of emotional and physical changes during pregnancy. She also needs encouragement and prayer support, particularly when she is young and inexperienced. When Mary, the mother of the Lord found out she was pregnant, she hurried to the house of Elizabeth (Luke 1:39). She needed support, and Elizabeth honored Mary. Elizabeth encouraged Mary by reaffirming the fact that God had a wonderful plan for Mary's life and for the life of her baby. It should be no surprise that Mary went to see Elizabeth when she found out she was pregnant, because Elizabeth was probably the only other person alive at that time whom had experienced a miraculous conception. Anybody else would have probably doubted Mary's innocence. Elizabeth's life experiences uniquely equipped her for ministry to Mary. The Lord has uniquely equipped many women who have already experienced pregnancy, childbirth, adoption, and motherhood to be a comfort and support to those going through the amazing journey. What a great opportunity we have to circle together and share in the joyful celebration of Life!

Overview The Elizabeth Circle will seek to provide a one on one relationship with an expectant mother and an experienced mother. It will seek to build a supporting and nurturing relationship that will continue throughout the pregnancy and first few months of motherhood. It will be an opportunity for an expectant mother to gain knowledge about pregnancy, share concerns and fears to someone who has experienced the childbirth process, have a spiritual mentor along the journey building up faith, and have help transitioning into the children’s ministry.
