Pottery Students will be taught hand building and wheel turning techniques. Various glaze applications will be demonstrated. Students will learn to manipulate clay by creative means to form functional and decorative ware. Ages 15 and up. This will be a 10 week class starting on September 17. Mondays 6-8 pm.

Basic Art

This class is designed for a beginning artist. We will learn the techniques of sketching; which includes - smudging, hatching, cross hatching, and stippling. We will apply these techniques to a still life and a building design. We will also attempt the beginning of perspective in a sketch. You will need to bring the following materials to class with you: 18X24 sketch pad, a no. 6 drawing pencil, a gummy eraser, a ruler, a and small package of assorted colored pencils. This will be a 4 week class starting on Tuesday September 18 meeting on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 pm. Teenagers and adults welcome. Tuition: $70 Instructor: Frankie Kane

Scottish Highland Dance Class Come learn the fun dance moves of the Scottish Highland Dance. Times and days to be determined by the students and instructor starting around the second week of September. Classes will be one hour each for eight weeks. Classes will be offered for beginners ages 10 & under, beginners ages 11 and over and advanced students ages 10 and over. Tuition: $80 Instructor: Heather Sylvain Scottish Country Dance Class Come try out the fun social Scottish Country Dance. Times and days to be determined by the students and instructor starting around the second week of September. Classes will be one hour each for eight weeks. Classes will be offered for those 10 & under and those 11 & older.

Memoir Writing Workshop Many folks daydream about writing a memoir but seldom ever get around to doing it. This workshop will get the participant well on the way to completing a short memoir and help the writer learn how to get their memories down on paper (or into a computer file). Special focus will be helping the writers craft their stories in a way that makes them enjoyable to their readers. The workshop is geared toward adults and senior citizens with any level of writing skills. Beginners are especially welcome! Beginning October 13th thru November 10th, this workshop will meet on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. Tuition: $75. Instructor: Crystal Kieloch, BC English instructor.

Tuition: $70 Instructor: Frankie Kane Fun Fine Art Fridays Students meet weekly to enjoy a variety of the arts: Theatre, music, painting, and pottery. This class will run for 8 weeks starting September 28. For ages 8-12. Fridays 5-6 pm. Tuition: $100 Instructors: Amanda Parks, Jessica Chambers-Paris, Jeri Lynn Anderson and Jennifer Bohannon Preschool Music Time Come join us for a time of singing, dancing, instruments and puppets. We will tap into your preschool child’s imagination. Perfect for your active, energetic, creative and imaginative preschooler! Each week we will be learning how to share, participate in group activities, and interact with other children while having fun. Parents are welcome to stay for the class. This class will meet for 5 weeks starting on Tuesday September 25 meeting each Tuesday from 4:00-5:00 pm. Ages 3-5, must be toilet trained. Tuition: $75 Instructor: Jeri Lynn Anderson

2012 Fall Schedule Registration Registration fee: a $25 non-refundable fee is due when registering for lessons and classes. There will be one registration fee per student, regardless of the number of classes being taken. One day workshops do not require a registration fee.

Tuition: $40 Instructor: Heather Sylvain Organization 101 Workshop Would you like to organize your home and your life, but not sure where to start? This workshop will offer tips on how to organize the different rooms in your home, your car, garage, storage areas, and even your daily schedule. Come learn inexpensive and DIY ways to enhance your life!! We will have a Q & A session to answer your organization questions and discover solutions to everyday organizational problems! This workshop will meet one time on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 10 am – 12 pm. Free gifts to help you get started on your organizational plan! This workshop does not require a registration fee.

Figure Drawing This class is designed for a beginning artist. We will learn proportions of the body and how to apply them, we will do contour and line drawings of the figure, face proportions, and we will draw from a live model. Family discount: When registering for more than one person per family, the registration fee is discounted to $15 per student.

BYT presents it’s tenth production this fall with the modern holiday classic The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Rehearsals begin November 1st, 4-6:00 p.m. Performances presented December 11-13. Ages 6-18. Tuition: $150 Directors: Charles M. Reese/Rebecca McCoy-Reese
