  The Freeman Stage at Bayside Seasonal Box Office Attendant Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Box Office Attendant executes ticket sales for all ticketed events, both “day of” and in advance of other performances. The two most important skills required of The Box Office Attendants are successfully executing all financial transactions and providing excellent customer service. Box Office Attendants are also the primary resource for Freeman Stage information. SUPERVISION The Box Office Attendant will report directly to the Box Office Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS ● Employees (Applicants) must be 18 or older ● Must have a good work ethic and the ability to work without direct supervision ● Experience in cash handling and keeping accurate financial records is preferred ● Must be proficient using computers ● Ability to interact with the public, both adults and children ● Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and on the telephone ● Ability to follow directions, both oral and written ● Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public, other employees and volunteers ● Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays and weekends ● Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ● The employee must be knowledgeable about The Freeman Stage at Bayside, it’s programs, venue policies and safety plans and be able to communicate such information in a courteous manner to patrons of the stage ● Maintain uniform standard ● The employee operates telephones, computers, ipads, scanners, and other technology equipment on a daily basis ● The employee will handle all transactions in a timely, courteous and professional manner ● Knowledgeable and efficiently uses ticketing system to transact business, including required reporting ● Sell tickets, collects payments and keeps accurate records of tickets sold ● If working at the physical box office, complete Auxiliary Concession cash verification after close ● Adhere to box office opening and closing procedures as outlined ● The employee will work either inside the Box Office at The Freeman Stage or at the JMFF office and may be asked to perform additional duties to ensure great service for our guests ● Greets customers in a pleasant and courteous manner ● Manages “will call” transactions ● Assists in promoting all events ● Assists in keeping accurate records of attendance, inventory of box office supplies and reports maintenance issues to supervisor ● Answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner ● Will maintain all​ ​marketing materials associated with The Box Office, including Stage programs, Stage calendars, mailing list and volunteer sign up cards ● Support Standards for Excellence accreditation, processes and other nonprofit accreditations that further the expertise and effectiveness of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation.

  REQUIREMENTS ● Successful background check is required ● Must be able to provide proof of identity and authorization to work in the US (Form I-9) ● Must successfully complete all required employment forms. COMPENSATION Hours may include nights, weekends and holidays. Wages to be determined upon hiring. All candidates for hire will be given a contingent offer letter that must be signed and returned.
