Boy Scout Troops You are invited to join the Grand River District Haunted Camp event. This year the theme is:

“Zombie Campers! ” We know that some troops have extensive setups for this event that they use year to year; all we ask is that you tailor that site to the theme. Not only are we looking for troops to put up scare sites, there is also the Dining Hall “Zombie Maze”, Zombie Games and parking lot helpers needed. Here are some ideas that might spur on your troop, but remember:    

No one gets hurt No one gets on or near the hayride & no one gets off the hayride Keep it clean and reverent – no Zombie Demons Make it fun for the boys and the riders while not trying to make the little ones cry too much Some ideas:     

Zombie Camp site Herds of zombies Zombie autopsy Zombie Brain eating contest Anything goes! Dust off your copy of season one of the Walking Dead and get your Zombie on. We need a troop to adopt the haunted house as their site. First come first serve. This troop will also need to help set up and dismantle the haunted house. This years haunted hayride will be very interactive with the visitors, we need volunteers from all the troops to participate in the “Zombie Races” which will be held at the field by the main parking lot. We will have a start and finish, and fencing to keep zombies from biting people. The people will hold the “carrot on a stick” (bodyparts) to get their zombie to win the race. I would like to have zombies walking throughout the campground to give the full effect.

YOUR IDEA for your scare site will need approved by the event committee Sites will be available for camping at your troops expenses. Troops renting cabins realize that there may be people using the electricity from the cabins during the event. You will need to have your site ready by 5:00 pm Saturday night, one hour prior to start and have a safety inspection. You may set up as early as 1:00 pm. A meal will be provided for all troops that put on a scare site, or game, or park cars. All Units that have scare sites or camping for weekend, need to park by the boat house or in the very back of the parking lot. Space is limited for parking, and we need as many as possible for the guests. Any questions contact or call: Barnie Burger 440-272-5045
