Purpose of the Role The main focus of the role is to deliver a responsive and timely Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) issuing service to pathway students for our on-campus Navitas partner, London Brunel International College (LBIC). The role will be mainly situated in Brunel’s Admissions team and will also work as part of LBIC’s Admission and Marketing Team, collaborate closely with Navitas’ Central Admissions Centre (ARC), LBIC’s Academic Services and Student Services to establish strong links in order to expedite a seamless CAS issuance and referral process. In addition, at times when LBIC CAS is not required, the role holder will provide a proactive, efficient and effective customer-focused service for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants to the University and to academic departments, from application through to registration in order to make a contribution to student recruitment at both LBIC and Brunel University London. Accountable to: Brunel Admissions Manager (International) and International Admissions Team Leader (on daily basis) with a dotted reporting line responsibility to LBIC Admissions Manager on regular basis Accountable for: N/A Key Internal Relationships: Other Admissions Officers, Marketing and Admissions Team in LBIC, Brunel Recruitment and Marketing Teams, Compliance staff, Admissions Tutors Key External Relationships: Applicants, Agents and other key stakeholders

Work of the Role To work with Brunel International Admissions Team and LBIC’s Admission and Marketing Team in order to expedite a seamless Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) issuance and referral process.

Main Duties 

Act as main administrator for processing and expediting LBIC CAS.



When CAS issuance is not required, undertake other admissions tasks, for the processing of student applications, providing a professional service which is responsive to the needs of LBIC, potential students and international agents.



Use admissions portals and student records systems (e.g. UCAS, SITS, Navigate) as appropriate.



Respond to enquiries face-to-face, by telephone, in writing and by e-mail in a timely manner inline with market expectation.



Be fully aware of LBIC and the University’s programmes and be able to advise potential students of suitable courses.



Gain a working knowledge of LBIC and the University’s entry requirements.



Provide basic immigration advice to prospective Tier 4 students as they progress through the application / Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) request process.



Check all CAS requests and the corresponding documents thoroughly to ensure that only genuine students who meet the requirements of Tier 4 are issued with a CAS.



Produce routine reports and letters from the Brunel’s Student Record System (SITS) and LBIC’s (Navigate).



Undertake preliminary assessment of each applicant for tuition fee status, requesting further information from applicants, as required.



Contribute to the work of both Admissions Teams and the Colleges as appropriate during busy periods and colleague absence and provide support to all aspects of admission and registration activities as required.



Ensure compliance with the regulatory framework governing the admissions function.



Develop a close working relationship with Marketing and Admission Team in LBIC and effective links with International Recruitment team in Brunel.



Actively participate in team meetings and on-going professional development activities.



Be aware of, and adhere to Data Protection, Disabilities Discrimination, Equal Opportunities and other relevant legislation and guidance as advised.



Evaluate and process applications accurately, within the agreed timescale, using the entry criteria supplied.



Given the concentration of many of the crucial aspects of the work during the summer months, no annual leave is permitted during August and September and there may be other business periods where leave will be restricted due to intensity of CAS work (according to the needs of the business).



Ensure compliance with the regulatory framework governing the admissions function.



Provide advice to academic departments on entry standards and comparable UK/EU and international qualifications.
