BUCS Football Development Conference Thursday 8th May 2014 FA St Georges Park, Burton upon Trent Afternoon Breakout Sessions 1.15pm – 2.30pm (A choice from two workshops) Workshop 1 University Football Activators For those universities with a University Football Activator this workshop represents an ideal opportunity to keep updated on programme developments, network with other sector staff line managing the Football Activator programme, share best practice, set priorities for Year 2 delivery and familiarise yourself with the evaluation and reporting processes. Delivered by Prathiv Kholia BUCS Football Development Coordinator. Workshop 2 Developing Children & Young People (CYP) Football Partnerships Develop your understanding of the new FA CYP football partnership delivery model. Explore how creating sustainable local partnerships can help your university to enhance community engagement, widen opportunities for your student players to play in community settings, create a skilled workforce and provide greater access to better facilities. Delivered by Donna McIvor FA National Football Development Manager Education.

Coffee Break 2.30pm – 3.45pm (A choice from two further workshops Workshop 3 Team Twenty Three A full launch of the exciting new Intra Mural Football programme ‘Team Twenty Three’. Gain understanding of the Team Twenty Three packages, application criteria, delivery requirements and resources whilst exploring how Team Twenty Three could look at your university. Also witness first hand a branded Team Twenty Three session being delivered. Delivered by Oliver Selfe BUCS National Football Development Manager and Prathiv Kholia BUCS Football Development Coordinator. Workshop 4 Supporting the Development of Student Coaches This workshop will focus on providing best practice support for universities with students working in schools delivering PE & School Sport alongside teachers or delivering unsupervised as part a of student placement. The session will also review new industry recommended best practice workforce qualifications in the form of the 1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education & School Sport (QCF). Delivered by Chris Welburn FA Regional PE & Coaching in Education Coordinator North East and Gareth Long FA Regional PE & Coaching in Education Coordinator South West.
