WE GATHER TO WORSHIP Greeting One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. All: And also with you. One: Let us prepare for worship.

Kirsten Homdrom

Preparation for Worship Lord our God, in Jesus Christ you have taught us that love is the fulfilling of the law. Send your Holy Spirit upon us, and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love, that we may love you with our whole being, and our neighbors as ourselves; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in unity with the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Call to Worship One: All who are anxious and burdened will find good news here. All: We are the family of God gathered in God’s house. One: Come with anticipation and expect to be changed. All: We have come to equip ourselves for ministry. One: As we prepare for worship we discover life and our true calling. All: We come knowing our lives are empty without worship and community. *Hymn 301 – Let Us Build a House

TWO OAKS

*Call to Confession *Prayer of Confession Loving God, it is no secret to you that we enjoy being honored above others, and we sometimes resent the attention that others receive. You know the shortcuts we take for our own advantage. We pretend to be more than we are and believe that it goes by unnoticed. You alone know our motives even when our actions seem noble. We need your help to put away what is false and discover what it means to be your child. Your forgiving love will put us on the right path, so turn us around, we pray. Amen. *Assurance of Pardon *Passing of the Peace *Response Hymn 299 – stanza 1 You servants of God, your Master proclaim, and publish abroad Christ’s wonderful name. The name all victorious of Jesus extol, whose kingdom is glorious, who rules over all.

HANOVER

WE PROCLAIM GOD’S WORD

*Offertory Response Hymn 717 For the life that you have given, for the love in Christ made known, with these fruits of time and labor, with these gifts that are your own: here we offer, Lord, our praises; heart and mind and strength we bring; give us grace to love and serve you, living what we pray and sing.

LBW Tone 1

Unless the Lord builds the house, their labor is in vain who build it. * Unless the Lord watches over the city, in vain the sentinel keeps vigil. It is in vain to rise so early and go to bed so late; * vain, too, to eat the bread of toil; for you, Lord, give sleep to your beloved. Children are a heritage from the Lord, * and the fruit of the womb is a gift. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior * are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the one whose quiver is full of them! * Such a one will not be put to shame when contending with enemies in the gate.

*Affirmation of Faith Christ calls us to live in the presence of God. He put God’s claim on his life above all else. He joined others in God’s worship and praise. He drew strength from the scriptures. We believe Christ gives us and demands of us personal lives that are centered in God and open to God’s reality and rule. Christ teaches us to put obedience to God above interests of self; to offer God joyously our money, ability and time. We are charged to pray for ourselves and others with gratitude, boldness, and persistence.
