Business Analyst Job Description Reporting Manager: Head of Finance

Direct Reports: Junior Business Analyst

Job Purpose Summary The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring that high quality financial data and analysis is prepared accurately and in a timely manner to both inform and lead business decision making at all levels across the business.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Lead the financial planning and strategic analysis process including delivering the business 5 year plan, annual budget and re-forecasts Liaise with key stakeholders to plan and deliver the 5 year plan ensuring this meets the business strategic objectives, build models flexible to adjust with planned growth and oversees their implementation. Perform all required analysis (including accounting, budgetary and related financial information) and presentation packs including submission packs to C. Banner Own the annual budget process ensuring consistency with 5 year plan, involving all business stakeholders, reviewing monthly phasing and performing all analysis/reporting Deliver quarterly reforecasts based on performance against budget and in agreement with key stakeholders including adjusting for macro-economic factors as well as internal strategic initiatives Investment appraisal for capex outlays including 5 year P&L impact and key KPI calculations around NPV, IRR and payback period to determine key investment decisions Preparation and/or review of new Franchise partner business models for financial viability to support business decision of on-boarding new partners/territories Business partnering with the commercial areas of the business, including supporting the Directors and Heads of Departments to evaluate strategic initiatives. Post implementation reviews of key capex initiatives Finance lead on all margin CPR initiatives Daily and Weekly Revenue reporting by channel with key performance indicators. Deliver weekly trade meeting pack along with ad-hoc analysis as requested by the business Ad-hoc project work (c.20% of role), eg support/review for supply chain, retail sales, store performance and margin initiatives.

Education: • •

Business Studies, Finance or Accountancy Degree. Qualified accountant, preferably CIMA or ACCA with at least 3 years PQE.
