Business Development Consultant Navitas Professional - Hobart Navitas is a diversified global education provider helping more than 80,000 international and domestic students around the world achieve their potential through world class education each year. In this exciting role in Hobart, you will be working for our Internships & Employment (I&E) Program which is an early mover in the provision of the Professional Year Program in Hobart Tasmania. The role of the Business Development Consultant is to build new relationships with industry stakeholders, attract prospective international students by liaising with industry related organizations, and promoting Navitas Professional Year Program via events, social media and other related opportunities. In your role you will be focusing on but not limited to dealing with daily enquiries from third party organizations and potential direct enrollment applications. Your expertise reflects in your knowledge on advising and guiding our students through their application, providing insight into the local visa regulations and career opportunities in Tasmania. As a successful applicant you have the drive to succeed and create a well know platform for our PYP program in the local market, making you the “go to” person in the market. Your insight into the pathway of our international students makes you a valued soundboard. I&E will also leverage the capacity of Navitas Head Office, Navitas University Programs and Navitas English with regard to integrating the marketing and sales into the existing networks and systems in use. The role will also include strong liaison with other teams, particularly the Melbourne team, and to work effectively with other business development staff within the Division. The role reports to the State Operations Manager Tasmania and the initial contract is full time up to September 2018. Essential  2 or 3 years’ experience in student recruitment/ account management  Proven record of building and maintaining successful business relationship with external stakeholders  Demonstrated practical work experience within education/student recruitment industry or related area  Sound experience in a business development role  Previous recruitment or placement experience with professional organisations  Excellent oral and written communication skills  Strong in multi-tasking, time management and organisational skills  Own transport required  Must have a valid drivers license Desirable criteria  Experience in the development of marketing collateral  Previous experience with international student or non-native English speakers  Experience in the development of relationships with corporate clients  Knowledge of CRM software What we offer An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Overview and Objectives of the Position:

The Internships & Employment (I&E) operations deliver internship and workplace preparatory courses across six Australian states and one territory, to meet the requirements of national professional associations and the workforce generally. The unit provides career ready preparation for students seeking to enter the workforce at early stages of their professional career. C&I offer a portfolio of programs, which develop foundation skills and career learning skills to enable students to progress their employment goals in their chosen career. C&I operates as a collegiate, matrixed operational model leveraging the skills and expertise of the C&I and partner Navitas business units to deliver targeted and nuanced work ready and work development solutions for individuals, education partners, host companies and professional associations across Australia. The C&I team works closely with other Navitas units, to combine areas of expertise to enable a broad range of students and clients to participate and succeed in the workplace of today and the future. The role of the Business Development Consultant, Tasmania works with the State Operation Manager, Tasmania to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with: universities; student groups; professional associations; and other key ‘centres of influence’ to support the growth of I&E programs and to ensure a positive perception of the Navitas brand. The Business Development Consultant will co-ordinate sales and marketing for Tasmania, for prospective student candidates for the C&I suite of programs. The Business Development Consultant, Tasmania will work with the Team Leader, Tasmania to engage with industry and source and coordinate internship placements for Navitas I&E program participants. The Business Development Consultant, Tasmania will be responsible for business development and sourcing new host companies to assist with continual expansion of our host company network.

Key Result Areas:

The Employee must perform the duties and responsibilities of the Position, which include but are not limited to: i.

Recruitment of students to internship programs as part of Navitas I&E

ii.

Management and development of key strategic partnerships (universities, student groups, professional associations, migration and education agents, etc) for the purpose of creation of new programs and student recruitment;

iii.

Assistance with the development of marketing collateral and contribute to marketing activities through social media.

iv.

Achieve Appropriate placement and engagement targets

v.

Identify new business opportunities both internally and externally and deliver and promote new product offerings developed by C & I

vi.

Increase brand awareness and industry presence with consistent and coherent marketing messages as a leader in the education and training industry

Responsibilities and Duties:

Contribute to the growth and profitability of I&E in relation to the above Key results areas: i.  

   

Recruiting students for both the Professional Year Program and all non-PY programs in accordance with the established sales targets. Carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organisations marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions and telemarketing. Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods. Provide regular and effective reports on sales activities in accordance with Navitas standards. Assist with the monitoring and reporting on market and competitor activities and providing relevant reports and information. Effectively counsel all prospective clients and convert enquiries into enrolments through the proactive management of clients. ii.





 

Assistance with the development of marketing collateral and contribute to marketing activities through social media.

Assist with the development of key marketing collateral for the Programs, including website development and other electronic media: brochures, banners and other hard copy media. Assist with contributing, monitoring and reporting on our Social Media platforms. Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems. iv.



Management and development of key strategic partnerships (universities, student groups, professional associations, migration and education agents, etc) for the purpose of creation of new programs and student recruitment;

Planning and implementing personal sales activities and customer contacts to the specific target audience, including the maintenance and development of existing and new customers through appropriate and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, in order to optimise business growth and customer satisfaction. Managing agents from within the Navitas group by providing current product information; establishing and managing sales targets and ensuring agent compliance with Navitas guidelines and government regulations. iii.



Recruitment of students to internship programs as part of Navitas I&E

Achieve Appropriate placement and engagement targets

Develop strong relationships at the appropriate levels within a broad range of industries across Tasmania with the aim of generating internship opportunities for Navitas participants.

Negotiate with internship host company on aspects of internship training plans Interview program participants and shortlist participant resumes for host companies Coach program participants on interview skills and Australian workplace culture and place graduates into quality and compliant internships with suitable host companies Monitor the progress of the placed interns and provide support to host companies Conduct class presentations on internships as required across all internship programs v.

  

Participate in networking events, information seminars and industry information days to explore further internship opportunities/vacancies. Conduct outbound calls and attend meetings with prospective host companies/internship providers to expand internship opportunities available to Navitas Assist in the annual reviews of Host companies and Networking activities and assist the Team Leader Tasmania and State Operations Manager in planning for the following years activities to ensure the best ROI vi.

    

 

Increase brand awareness and industry presence with consistent and coherent marketing messages as a leader in the education and training industry

Prepare and implement a schedule to ensure a minimum of four visits to existing host companies per month Obtain a minimum of two host company testimonials per quarter and forward to State manager. Obtain a minimum of one student testimonial/success story per quarter and forward to State Manager. Develop and implement a schedule to ensure all host companies with existing internships are contacted at least once per month and a physical visit is conducted at least once per placement Contribute to two industry-related activities (e.g. presentation) per quarter for promotional purposes vii.



Identify new business opportunities both internally and externally and deliver and promote new product offerings developed by C & I

Ensure optimal use of systems, processes and procedures

Maintain and update the CRM systems (Salesforce, WIP, and SONIA) and maintain all relevant data and placement information across the business systems. Complete general administration work related to internship placements as required Ensure all enquiries receive a response within 48 hours of logging the enquiry. All responses to elicit a positive customer experience and seek to find a successful solution for each case.
