Commonwealth of Massachusetts – Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development Functional Title: Oracle Database Administrator - (1 Vacancy) Duties: The responsibility of this position is for implementing Encryption with Oracle TDE, documenting, maintaining, and supporting the technical environment required by Oracle Databases. Individuals in this position work at a technical level with an understanding of Oracle Databases, operating system, and hardware platform. Incumbents interact with the development teams, configuration teams, various technical teams, and business stakeholders to optimize and maintain the overall Oracle Database reliability, availability, and performance. This is a critical role and candidate must have experience in implementing Encryption with Oracle TDE, VPD on Oracle 11g database on a windows RAC environment. Must have hands on experience in the Implementation, Configuration, and Maintenance of several highly complex systems in an Enterprise Level environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate lead level capabilities to Develop & Support the DBA activities, problem solving, and data analysis. The candidate must be self-starting, have a strong attention to detail and accuracy, and able to fill multiple roles within the Oracle environment. Candidate will be expected to transfer knowledge and train client’s DBA’s. Special Duties and Requirements: Must be willing and able to work other than normal work hours in an emergency to test new software, resolve critical system problems and/or perform production system maintenance. Must be willing to work on a periodical stand by duty when deemed necessary by management. Must be willing and able occasionally respond to telephone calls (or other means of communication) received. Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be an expert in implementing Encryption with Oracle TDE and must have designed and configured Virtual Private Database (VPD) choosing the right policy for VLDB. Utilizing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) to analyze encryption features, and encrypt sensitive information within the database and implement encryption keys on relational database management systems. Must have worked Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite including Identity and Access Management, Data classification, Data Security and Security Testing. Must have hands on experience in architecting and implementing Identity and Access Management solutions using Oracle TDE and VPD. Implement and maintain the multiple Oracle Databases that comprise the Oracle environment (development, test, training and production). Provides technical input and assistance in optimal Oracle Database configuration to maximize system performance and availability. Experience using AWR, ADDR, SQL and segment advisors, Explain Plan, OEM for db and SQL tuning. Help the DBA’s and as needed to administer the Oracle Databases (plan and perform database upgrades, apply database maintenance, design and maintain physical database layout, perform database reorganizations, design and implement backup and restore strategy, archiving strategy, maintain

database security, administer database performance, manage database storage, database problem determination and resolution, etc.). Provide recommendations on changes and design enhancements to improve reliability, security, processes, and performance of the databases. Gathering and analyzing business requirements to architect and develop modules with multiple integration points while working on RDMS, and developing database codes including functions, stored procedures, packages, triggers, reports, setting up permissions. Provide status reports for projects to Database Team Lead and management. Work with MOS for escalated oracle issues. Participate in peer reviews on specifications, design and code. Validate the data in the database and also responsible for testing the routines developed. Work closely with QA and Operations to ensure smooth QA and deployment of applications. Work with project teams to plan integration and implementation strategies. Experience performing Unit, Functional, Regression, Integration and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Should have a strong verbal and written skills. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. 8+ years of Oracle Databases work experience supporting 24x7 production environments required. Minimum 3 plus years of hands on experience and implementing in database security TDE / Oracle encryption/decryption and Oracle Advanced Security including SOX controls. Knowledge of Oracle database Backups/recovery, performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures. Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in Oracle RAC 10g & 11g OLTP and Data warehouse systems. Minimum 1 year of Oracle Data Guard experience. OCP certification in Oracle Database Administration is a plus.
