Thermogravimetry A laboratory analog computer has been developed for use with the compa­ ny's RG and RH recording electrobalances. The Model 3100 Time Deriva­ tive Computer Mark II rapidly com­ putes the rate of change of weight with time, and records the signal for com­ parison with the direct weight value. Pyrolysis The Model 40 Pyro-Chem Accessory, developed for use with infrared spectro­ photometers, simplifies infrared analy­ sis of carbon-filled polymers, hardened irregular plastics, and synthetic fibers. The Model 40 consists of a plug-in py­ rolysis chamber and power supply. A sample is pyrolyzed under vacuum at a preset temperature between 250° and 1300° C and analyzed in the same chamber without exposing the pyrolysate to the atmosphere.
