Calvary Wedding Event Agreement Your wedding is a celebration of your love for one another and a sacred ceremony through which you enter into a lifelong covenant. Your pastor desires to make it an unforgettable experience marked by spirituality, warmth, reverence and joy. The following information will help you as you plan your special day.
Where Do We Start? 1. Contact Calvary’s Wedding Coordinator at
[email protected] to reserve the dates for your rehearsal and wedding at the church or Harvest Fields. If you have a pastor preference, please communicate this. The Wedding Coordinator will make the necessary contacts to secure the pastor and building reservations. Any questions or concerns about your wedding day should be directed to the Wedding Coordinator, they can answer your questions and will meet with you to discuss the details of your ceremony. 2. A wedding performed by Calvary staff requires pre-‐marital counseling. See page 4 for further details about making an appointment for premarital counseling. This counseling may be a combination of professional counseling, group learning, and marriage mentoring. If you prefer other arrangements for counseling this is possible with the approval of the pastor who is performing your wedding.
Frequently Asked Questions What are the standards for use of the church facilities? Calvary, and all of its facilities, are here to serve people for God. Our expectation is that you, your wedding party and guests will keep in mind that the facilities serve many people and conduct themselves appropriately. In addition, because the facilities are also a place of worship we request that wedding attire be in keeping with good taste and modesty. Do we have to use the services of the Calvary Wedding Coordinator Yes, if your ceremony and/or reception will take place at a Calvary facility or on Calvary property you are required to use Calvary’s Wedding Coordinator. Are there any restrictions on the music we can use in our ceremony? The music should be music that is personally meaningful for you and your spouse-‐to-‐be. In addition none of the music should be spiritually offensive. If there are questions regarding your music, please confer with the wedding coordinator and/or pastor performing your ceremony. All music to be used during the event must be provided to the sound technician no later than two weeks prior to the event. The sound technician will then work with you regarding file type details, etc. The wedding coordinator can provide contact information for the sound technician during the reservation process. What should I tell my photographer about taking pictures during the ceremony? Ultimately this decision is up to the couple, but pictures of the wedding ceremony may be taken as long as this does not distract from the service. Flash photography is discouraged during the prayer and from the front of the church during the ceremony. Is it okay for guests to throw birdseed as we leave the church? Yes, birdseed or bubbles are acceptable, but confetti and rice are not acceptable for throwing outside the church facility.

If the reception is at a Calvary facility or on Calvary property can there be a champagne toast? No alcoholic beverages or drugs of any kind are permitted on Calvary premises. Are we responsible for cleaning up after the ceremony? Yes, please return the facility to the same condition in which it was found. Decorations, paper, and all refuse should be cleaned up and placed in the trash containers outside and turn off all lights in rooms that were used. For an additional fee of $20/hour a custodian can clean up after the event, if interested in this service please let the Wedding Coordinator know. How should payments for any facility use and wedding services be handled? All payments for services listed above should be paid in full to the church or person providing the services for your ceremony at the rehearsal. Payments may be given to the wedding coordinator for distribution. The security deposit will need to be written as a separate check from the facility rental fee so it can be returned to you in the mail after the event. The check for the rental of the facility will be a second, separate check payable to Calvary. Can we provide our own technical support for the event? Due to the expense and configuration of the equipment as well as the skill level required for proper operation, technical support may only be provided by certified Calvary staff or other Calvary certified individuals. Premarital Counseling Calvary requires premarital counseling before a Christian marriage ceremony can be performed. Calvary believes so strongly in its benefit for the future marital relationship that we are committed to helping all premarital couples with the cost involved. Melanie Harding (
[email protected] or 238-‐0822 x 22) and Sharon Schott (
[email protected]) are Christian counselors closely associated with Calvary. We have an arrangement with them to provide four one hour sessions to each premarital couple and to charge the cost of that to Calvary. Any additional counseling sessions required will be paid for by the pre-‐marital couple at $90/hour. If you would prefer to retain someone else for your premarital counseling, Calvary will pay $360 of that cost directly to the Christian counselor of your choosing. If you plan to use either Melanie or Sharon for this counseling, please contact them ahead of your first anticipated visit. A packet of information will need to be completed prior to your first session. If this paperwork is completed ahead of time, it will greatly expedite the counseling process.
