Jan Gifford is the founder and Director of Capstone Counseling and the Director of Counseling for Black Rock Congregational Church in Fairfield, CT. Jan also provides counseling services for Stepney Baptist Church in Monroe, CT.

Jan has been working in the mental health field since 1978 in various mental health settings which include inpatient, outpatient, and day hospital units. Jan has a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Social Work and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Capstone Counseling was established in 2007 as a Christian counseling ministry for Black Rock Congregational Church and as an outreach to the greater community. Jan has been serving individuals, couples and families as a Christian counselor since 2006. Jan facilitates a Grieving With Hope Group which is available to grieving people throughout the year. Public speaking engagements have included seminars addressing the topics of anger management, Depression and “Healing is a Choice.” Jan has also done numerous presentations for the Divorce Recovery Ministry at Black Rock Congregational Church.
