THE CASE FOR THE RESURRECTION Post Session 2 Prep

This discussion will revisit the idea of living like God does not exist. Even Paul admits that it “makes sense”, it’s rational to just party if there is no resurrection. If you desire, you can spend some time discussing this idea and the following verses from Corinthians. However it is also fair to expect a rational answer from a world without God about the problem of evil. This question is the opener for leading into the question of where would we find hope without God. That can be a segue from the Frederick the bear video to the next slide. We will look at two answers to this question of where would we find hope apart from God. First is Pleasure - drinking, partying, relationships, selfish pursuit. The Ellie Goulding song will provide a current example of this idea of making a relationship an ultimate thing. Second is science, that humans will eventually solve all problems through technology. This sounds modern, but has been a pursuit of man from early on in history. See the story of Babel. You can have students compare the story of Babel and the story of the Wanderers for similarity. Ultimately both of these fall short. Have students try to thing of more ways they fail in addition to the two listed. Close with the true source of hope.
