John Mitchell, Jr., recipient of the 1974 Anachem Award, has been with the Du Pont Co. since 1935. This award is presented annually by the Association of Analytical Chemistry (Detroit) and will be given this year Nov. 20 at the First National FACSS meeting in Atlantic City, N.J. Dr. Mitchell's address is titled, "Methods for the Determination of Water in Polymers"

and the Commerce Department has developed information on the likely need and acceptance of these prod ucts. The Latin American Division of Commerce is sponsoring a process control instrumentation exhibition at the U.S. Trade Center in Mexico City, January 20-24,1975. A market re search study in Mexico has identified sales opportunities in process measur ing and control instruments and sys tems, including gas and chemical anal ysis equipment; associated control and regulator valves; sensors, primary ele ments, and accessories; miniature electronic equipment for junction with computers; and electronic equipment for laboratories. Interested manufacturers are urged to contact Mary R. Wiening (202) 967-5037, Room 4043, Latin American Division/OIM, U.S. Dept. of Com merce, Washington, D.C. 20230.

Eugene Sawicki, winner of the Microchemical Society's Benedetti Pichler award, has been in air pollution research since 1956. Dr. Sawicki, who is with the Environmental Protection Agency, will receive his award Nov. 19 at the FACSS meeting, Atlantic City, N.J., and will present an address on hazardous substances in the environment and their analysis

crochemical Techniques scheduled for May 22-27, 1977. This symposium continues the series held in Graz, Bir mingham, and Penn State University. The scientific program will include the application of microchemical tech niques to all disciplines, including trace analysis, environmental studies, clinical and biochemical areas, and special problems. Suggestions for pro gram topics are welcomed. Further in formation on the meeting is available from Mrs. D. Butterworth, Division of Chemical Standards, National Physi cal Laboratory, Teddington, Middle sex, England, or Wolfgang Merz, BASF AG, Untersuchungslaboratorium, WHU, D-700 Ludwigshafen/ Rhein, Germany.

Nominations Invited The Delaware Valley Chromatogra phy Forum invites nominations for the Steven Dal Nogare Award. This award is given annually for significant contributions to chromatographic theory, instrumentation, or applica tions, and consists of $500 and an in-
