The Lord our God said to us in Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Turn and take your journey, and go to the hill country…” Deuteronomy 1:6-7 (ESV)

1. The credibility of the mission is not measured by the opinions or decisions of the people involved.

2. The journey is always more difficult than first perceived.

3. The vision does not devalue previous successes.

4. Attitudes and actions should never be determined by personal disappointments.

And I pleaded with the Lord…“Please let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan…” But the Lord was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me...“…look at it with your eyes, for you shall not go over this Jordan.” Deuteronomy 3:23, 25-27

“But charge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall go over at the head of this people, and he shall put them in possession of the land that you shall see.” Deuteronomy 3:28

5. Vision is indispensable; I am not.

6. God’s assignment is not limited by our personal deficiencies.

7. Failure is never final; success rarely instantaneous.
