Application to the General Council of the Bar of Northern Ireland for a Temporary Practising Certificate I understand that you wish to apply for temporary membership of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland and of the Bar of Northern Ireland. You are therefore required, by Rule 26A (2) (vi) of the Rules of the Honourable Society of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland, to apply also, in conjunction with your application for temporary membership, for a temporary practising certificate from the Bar of Northern Ireland. That application, for a practising certificate, should be made to the General Council of the Bar of Northern Ireland. I enclose an application form. The fee in respect of the issue of the certificate (if granted) is £250.00. The application form, together with the documents which are required to be attached, and a cheque for the relevant amount, made out to the “Executive Council Account”, should be returned to: Mrs Lisa Mayes, Bar Library, 91 Chichester Street, Belfast BT1 3JQ: A temporary practising certificate, if granted, is valid for the duration of the case or group of cases in respect of which the certificate has been granted, or until its expiration on the Northern Ireland practising certificate renewal date of 30th April, as the practising year runs from 1st May to 30th April when, if the case or group of cases continue, the temporary practising certificate will require renewal.
