Child Life Internship Thank you for your interest in The Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health’s internship program. We offer internships for Spring semester and only accept students who are affiliated with a college or university. We accept up to 2 students each semester. Our internship program here at The Children’s Hospital Navicent Health is 16 weeks long, providing the student with 640 clinical hours, 40 per week. Each student will complete two 7 week rotations in two of the following areas of the hospital where Child Life Services are found: General Pediatrics Floor, CHOPS (outpatient services), PICU/PIMCU, Pediatric Surgery, NNICU, Oncology Clinic and Crescent House, our child advocacy center. In the remaining two weeks you will be able to choose one area that was not a rotation, but one that you would like experience in. Students will have weekly work to turn in and a final project due at the end of the semester. The application deadlines are listed below. Eligibility: Applicants are required to have a senior level status in a bachelor’s degree program or higher and must be currently enrolled Applicants must be working towards completing the certification requirements to sit for the Child Life Council Certification Exam Applicant must have volunteer and/or paid work experience with well infants, children, youth and/or families in a variety of settings Applicant must have volunteer and/or paid work with children and families experiencing stressful situations, healthcare and/or health issues. Hospital experience is preferred Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and a 3.0 in their major

Applicants must be enrolled in a college program. Application Packet: - Common Child Life Internship Application -College Transcript(s): must be an official document from your college/university -Resume -Two letters of recommendation on business letterhead 1. One must be from an academic instructor from your college/university 2. One must be from a supervisor who has observed your work with children in the past 2 years Please make sure your application is complete and postmarked by the deadline date. Incomplete packets and/or packets that do not meet the deadline date will not be considered.
