How have you demanded that your parents give you what only your perfect heavenly Father can give you?

Questions Bible Study: What are the commands to children (both young and old) in regards to their relationship with their parents?

List out some Biblical principles of what obedience ought to look like (feel free to cite specific passages):

How are obeying parents and honoring parents different?

Evaluation & Repentance: Are there sins and failures of your parents for which you have failed to forgive them?

In what do your parents sins and failures still control you?

Is there anything for which you need to seek your parent’s forgiveness for your failure to obey or honor them?

Believe in God and the Gospel: What does the person and work of Jesus in the Gospel tell us about God’s fatherly love for us?

What aspect of God’s fatherhood is most powerful in providing you love in the areas where your own father or mother failed to love and care for you?

Apply and Obey: What are specific ways you can seek to honor your parents this week?

Assignment: If it is possible, ask your parents how you can better honor them
