BLESSING OF THE HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS HYMN OF PRAISE
Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee. Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty, God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
Hymn 64
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee, casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee, which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be. Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee, though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see, only thou art holy; there is none beside thee, perfect in power, in love and purity. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea. Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty, God in three persons, blessed Trinity.
INVITATION Pastor: Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore let us confess our sin before God and one another.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND PARDON
People: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church.
Rev. Brandon Dirks
We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Pastor: Let us all pray silently and confess our sins to God. (All pray in silence)
WORDS OF ASSURANCE Pastor: Now hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners. That proves God’s love for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. People: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. All: Glory to God. Amen.

The Pastor concludes: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. The Pastor concludes: In remembering all that he did and taught, we actively await with hope for the coming of God’s reign to bring peace and justice, as we proclaim the mystery of faith. Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. The Pastor concludes: Bless what we do here this morning, that we and these gifts, touched by your spirit, may be signs of life and love to each other and to all the world.
Amen, amen, amen. Pastor: And now, with the confidence of children of God, let us pray:
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Albert Hay Malotte Michael Bolden, solo
SERVING OF THE BREAD AND CUP PRAYER AFTER RECEIVING COMMUNION All:
Eternal God, we give thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
INVITATION TO CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP CLOSING HYMN
Go, Make of All Disciples “Go, make of all disciples.” We hear the call, O Lord, that comes from thee, our Father, in thy eternal Word. Inspire our ways of learning through earnest, fervent prayer, and let our daily living reveal thee everywhere.
Hymn 571, stanzas 1, 2, 4
“Go, make of all disciples,” baptizing in the name of Father, Son, and Spirit, from age to age the same. We call each new disciple to follow thee, O Lord, redeeming soul and body by water and the Word. “Go, make of all disciples.” We welcome thy command. “Lo, I am with you always.” We take thy guiding hand. The task looms large before us; we follow without fear; in heaven and earth thy power shall bring God’s kingdom here.
