CHRIST IN THE PSALMS Hope For The Faithful Psalm 11 This study guide is intended to be used for personal study and within your community group to facilitate discussion.

Read Psalm 11 (1) This psalm holds out hope for those who remain faithful, amidst the pressure and temptation to find refuge in something other than God. The theme of refuge is one we have seen several times so far in the psalms. What does it mean to seek refuge in the Lord? When are we to seek refuge in Jesus? (2) David confesses that the Lord is both sovereign (on his throne) and that he is in his temple (he is near). Why are both of these realities we know to be true of God important, in light of our needs/troubles? (3) David then says that the Lord tests the righteous. This testing, or examining, is not unto judgment or condemnation, but for our own sanctification. Think of a recent difficult season you may have experienced. How has God used that season to conform you into the image of Jesus? (4) Why does our obedience/righteous living matter, according to this text?
