Churches do you know about our summer camps? Do you want to send more kids to camp next summer? Want to help raise scholarship fund for your church kids to attend? When our youth spend time at one our three UMC camps amazing things happen relationships with Christ are nurtured and deepened, while some are introduced to the love of our Lord for the very first time. Because of the important role camp plays in the lives of Christian youth, we want to assist you in sending as many children as possible. Retreat and Camping Ministries (RCM) has entered into an agreement with Mission Partners, a western PA based business focused on fundraising for good causes. Twenty-seven churches in the Baltimore-Washington Conference are already participating in the "Clean Closets for Campers" program and we would like to expand the impact. Mission Partners will work with a designated person at your church to place two collection bins in a visible location on your property. Four feet by three feet, the bins are a place for the community to donate unwanted clothes, shoes, belts, and purses. In turn, your church will receive a portion of the fair market value per pound for what is collected so you can use that toward camperships for your churches kids. The church's responsibility is to provide a location for the bins and promote donations. Mission Partners will take care of emptying the bins and sending you a check for your share. The BWC UMC believes in this program and has developed bulletin inserts, posters, and Power Point slides to assist you in your promotions.
