DATE: AUGUST 3rd, 2016 ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – PART TIME - CITY OF KIEL POLICE DEPARTMENT The City of Kiel Police Department is accepting applications to fill a vacancy for the position of (part-time) administrative assistant. Hours of work will be during weekdays, mainly in the afternoon, with times varying between 10-15 hours per week dependent on work load, municipal court schedule, and availability. PAY: $13.19 - $16.49 Per Hour – Dependent upon qualifications JOB DESCRIPTION: The administrative assistant performs a variety of routine and at times complex confidential administrative clerical duties to include and not limited to; keeping official records, transcribing and typing reports involving complaints, arrests, citations, and other law enforcement related correspondence, collection of fees, and processing of payments. This position includes dispatcher duties including answering the telephone for non-emergency calls for service and also operation of a police radio, computers, and other electronic equipment. Applicant must be competent with basic computer program operation (i.e. Microsoft, etc.) QUALIFICATIONS: U.S. citizen, valid driver’s license, good driving record, high school diploma, no felony convictions, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to keyboard/type 50 words per minute, knowledge and skills in operating computer systems, clear and concise speech, ability to handle several tasks simultaneously, ability to perform essential functions of this position.
