PREACHER B’S BE-ATTITUDES Harold Graham has decided to retire. Harold has served as part-time Custodian since June 4, 2012. We are grateful to Harold for his years of service, his love for Florence Baptist Church and his dedication to the job. Harold’s official retirement date is June 4, 2019. With this in mind, the Staff Committee met and is seeking someone to fill the position. The position is 20 hours per week, and a job description and employment application are available in the Church Office. If you are interested or know of someone who is interested, please stop by the Church Office and see Teresa. We have had some response since we ran this in The Messenger last week. Our hope is to meet with the Staff Committee real soon, do interviews and fill the position. So again, if you are interested or know of someone who is, please call or have them call the Church Office and speak with Teresa Skinner just as soon as possible.

IN MEMORY OF:

Most of all, please make this a matter of prayer. We are blessed with wonderful facilities, and we work hard every day to keep them clean and neat to the glory of God. This is a part -time position but a very important position for Florence and the work of the Lord.

On Wednesday evening, we will finish up our Wonderful Wednesday programs for the month of May with the RA/GA Pinewood Derby at 6:30. We will have announcements and a prayer time and then invite everyone to enjoy the race. The kids get excited about this, and we invite you to catch the excitement. Please make your reservations for dinner and then join in the race for the checkered flag!

June is upon us! It is hard to believe I am writing that! Didn’t we just celebrate Christmas? June means many things. We will recognize our high school graduates on Sunday, June 9, at 11:00. Vacation Bible School is June 17-20. Our youth will go to MFUGE the week of June 24. The Summer Reading Club is coming back and begins Monday and Tuesday June 24 and 25. And like we did last year, we will have two Fellowship Suppers in June, June 5 and 12. On those two Wednesday nights, we hope you will join us for dinner and stay for Prayer Meeting around the tables. We will not have any children’s activities those two Wednesday nights. The week of Vacation Bible School, June 17-20, we will have Snack Suppers for everyone like we have done in past years.

IN HONOR OF: Steve Garrison Adult Choir

One other item for June! We will have the 2018 Audit on Wednesday, June 5. Our accountants will be here from Charlotte. In preparation for the audit and with the actual audit taking place on that Wednesday, we will not print The Messenger the week of June 3. Summer is a wonderful time! Obviously, it is the time of school being out and vacations. Schedules and routines change for most everyone, but we hope you will make every effort to be in God’s House for Sunday School and worship. When we are travelling, let’s find a church, and when we are home, let’s be faithful to this wonderful place we call Florence.
