June 25, 2014 Dear Valued Business Owner, The Collingwood United Soccer Club (CUSC) Premier Men’s Team represents the highest caliber of athleticism, sportsmanship, and talent the CUSC has to offer. The team’s recent successes are a testament to what is possible when our community, local businesses, and athletes unite to achieve a common goal. Recognizing your impressive contributions to community initiatives, the CUSC Premier Men’s Team invites you to contribute your support to continue the team’s success, while permanently and publicly etching your business into Collingwood’s local history. In 2013, with full support from the CUSC Executive and partnerships with select local businesses, the team succeeded in accessing indoor practice facilities at Pretty River Academy, attracted new coaching staff and players, and adopted a philosophy of play that fostered the development of some of Collingwood’s most committed and talented athletes. These changes created the conditions necessary for the team to thrive, and the team responded by proving its competitive edge in one short season by winning the York Region Soccer League Premier Championship in 2013, competing competitively this season in the Ontario Soccer League, and for the first time ever, advancing to the second round of the esteemed Ontario Cup. As a direct result of last season’s successes, the Premier Men’s Team now competes in the Ontario Soccer League. This next step will elevate the club’s prestige, as well as provide a new level of sports entertainment to local fans and athletes alike, while bringing new exposure to the town of Collingwood as teams from across the province travel to Fisher’s Field to compete. By becoming a member of the OSL, the Premier Men’s Team is forging Collingwood’s reputation both locally and abroad as a community that produces home grown athletes who can compete with the best soccer teams in Ontario. The CUSC Premier Men’s Team is poised and ready to accept this challenge and surpass expectations. However, to continue on their successful 2013 season and continue their promising start to their 2014 season into 2015 the Premier Men’s Team will need to increase their ability to train in the offseason. With off-season training costs expected to reach approximately $4,000.00 the team invites your company to contribute to their First Annual CUSC Premier Men’s Seasons End Golf Tournament Fundraiser. The first annual tournament will feature 18 holes of golf at the beautiful Duntroon Highlands Golf Club followed by a relaxing patio barbeque dinner on the patio overlooking the course’s back nine holes. There are many ways your business can help contribute to the success of this event. Please see the attached document outlining all of these helpful options.
