C OMMUNICATIONS A CTIVITIES C OORDINATOR Full Time (Temporary for Summer) – New York, NY ABOUT THE COMPANY: The Armenian General Benevolent Union was established in 1906 and is the world’s largest non-profit organization devoted to preserving and promoting the Armenian identity and heritage through educational, cultural, and humanitarian programs. AGBU currently has a presence in 31 countries, annually touching the lives of some 500,000 Armenians worldwide. JOB DESCRIPTION: The NYSIP Communications Activities Coordinator position will begin on June 19, 2016 and end on August 13, 2016. This position requires the Communications Activities Coordinator to live in the NYU dorms with the summer interns so that NYSIP staff will always be available for the interns and make them feel safe and comfortable during the program. The Communications Activities Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact to the interns and will report to the Program Associate. The main responsibility areas for the Communications Activities Coordinator are dorm supervision and guidance, marketing, communications and social media management. RESPONSIBILITIES:  Manage social media channels with up-to-date content and photographs; channels include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn  Maintain NYSIP blog, published on http://agbu-internship.org  Take, organize and use photos to document the 2016 season (to be used for future AGBU promotional materials)  Devote approximately 20-25 hours per week working in the AGBU Central Office, in addition to work done inside and outside of dorm life  Serve as a capable and exemplary leader to the interns  Perform other tasks as delegated by the Program Associate QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate must be:  Fan of social media  Enthusiastic with a high energy level and a positive attitude  A Fast Learner  A Self-Starter  Adaptable  A team player  A problem solver  Mature and set a positive example for interns  Career-oriented PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  AGBU Summer Internship Program alumnus/a  Experience with a photo camera and passion for photography a plus  Interest in professional development  Interest in program management Ideal candidate must demonstrate core AGBU values: Trust, Accountability, Teamwork, Service and Respect for Diversity.
