The Manlight compact EDFA is field proven and offers excellent optical performance and reliability. The compact EDFA gain block is intended for DWDM applications in the C- & L-band wavelength range. It can be optimized to perform as a booster, line or pre-amplifier in DWDM systems and subsystems for metro and long haul applications. The gain block contains input and output monitor diodes and isolators. The EDFA can be configured to use an uncooled pump laser that enables low power consumption which allows system designers to achieve compact solutions, lower costs and flexibility in system design.

The Manlight Compact EDFA gain module with integrated control electronics is suitable for DWDM systems where fast transient control and gain flattening is required. It can be optimized to perform as a booster, line and pre-amplifier in systems and subsystems for metro and long haul applications. It operates in constant gain, constant power mode or in constant current mode. The gain block contains input and output monitor diodes and isolators. The EDFA can be configured to use an uncooled pump laser that enables low power consumption which allows system designers to achieve compact solutions, lower costs and flexibility in system design.

With a unique design based on Manlights in-house pump combiner and optical know-how, the high power amplifiers are optimized to offer high power and low noise figure with proven reliability and quality. The output power can be distributed between 1 to 16 output ports. The use of efficient and reliable uncooled pump diodes allows the Manlight amplifiers to reach high output powers with low overall power consumption. The control electronics featuring alarms, automatic shutdown, and RS-232 communication interface is driven by a 5 / 24 VDC power supply.

The ML-YFA/EYFA-CW-SLM-P-TKS, “Turn Key System“ is a compact CW Fibre Amplifier delivering up to 15W of output power at 1.0µm and 10W at 1.5µm, through a near diffraction limited linearly polarized beam (M²<1.3). The ML-YFA/EYFA-CW-SLM-P-TKS is optimised for the amplification of Single Longitudinal Mode (SLM) laser sources of down to 10kHz instantaneous Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM). The design and configuration of this amplifier render it unique and reliable. The power is delivered trough a polarized beam and with excellent power stability. Our patented “Injection Technology” allows the use of highly reliable broad area laser diode pumps, for a cost-effective and maintenance-free operation. The allfibre design guarantees the robustness of the amplifier, without any optical parts to align or to stabilise. The simple integration of the Bench Top system requires no after-installation service. Manlight, based in Brittany, has chosen words in local Celt language, the Breton, to personalize its product portfolio. Each of the eight fiber laser and amplifier product lines starts with a letter of Manlight. HED in Breton stands for Wavelength. Thus perfectly adapted to our 1.5µm and 1.0µm high power CW PM SLM fiber amplifiers.
