DEAR MUSIC LOVERS,

It is my pleasure to present the wonderful music we have planned for the 2015-16 Concert Series. The concerts we bring to the sanctuary uplift our listeners with the joy that only music can bring. We believe that encounters with beauty can change our lives for the better. Such high aspirations are a part of RBCPC’s mission to bring the best of God’s creation into the community that surrounds us. We are excited to bring the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Gospel Choir back for its fourth appearance. This remarkable group of volunteers from every part of San Diego comes together to raise the roof as only Gospel Music can. They also dedicate their income to provide college scholarships to deserving high school students. Our season opener will be on October 4th. Also returning this year is the dynamic husband/wife team, Edward and Anne Turgeon. Their virtuosic two-piano four-hand performance brought down the house at their debut. Let’s see what new music they bring to us on November 1. Rounding out the fall will be our annual RBCPC Christmas Concert. We are working hard to create another festive, crowd-pleasing event that you can bring your friends to enjoy. Put December 6 on your calendar today!

CONCERT SERIES

We’ll start out the New Year with a toast to the Big Band era when Gary Adcock brings Coatal Cities Jazz Band to swing and sway us with hits from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Michael Ruhl is the lead singer to help us with the words. The joint will be jumpin’ on January 31st. We love to support young musicians here, so don’t miss San Diego Symphony Wind Orchestra on March 6th. These talented high school students receive music training from professionals dedicated to encouraging the next generation of musicians. This is San Diego’s premier wind ensemble—come be amazed! Presidio Brass, one of the city’s finest brass quintets, topped off with a battery of percussion, will join forces with organist, Alison Luedecke in an afternoon of thrilling, festive music. We have so many enthusiastic audiences for these concerts, but the free-will offerings we take simply do not cover the expenses of underwriting these performances. Bringing such great music to Rancho Bernardo is only possible because generous donors have stepped up to offer their financial support. We are so fortunate to have their support.  Please take a moment to consider becoming a patron of our series. What a wonderful way to join with your neighbors and friends in bringing great music to your neighborhood! Your name will appear on each concert program all year long. Just send your check to the address on this brochure. You are also welcome to underwrite a specific concert with appropriate recognition. Please contact me if you are interested in sponsoring a concert. As a donor, you also help sponsor our daughter organization, Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, providing exciting opportunities for talented young people to make music under the leadership of Director Alyze Dreiling. Please take a look at their concerts on the back of this brochure. We would love to see you at each of them!
