What ministries are included in Mercy and Hospitality? Forever Hope Orphan Care, Hand-to-Hand (delivering hope, weekend food, love & prayers to at risk school children), Neighbors International (a ministry of friendship and hospitality to international college and university students), the Language Café English practice time, as well as ministries to Prisoners, Refugees, Internationals, Widows and Special Needs individuals and their families How does the Missions and Outreach Department work? We partner with 50 global and local Christian workers and many organizations that have intentional Gospel outreach as part of their goals. Through prayer, financial support and involvement of Calvary people, we impact over 26 countries around the world. We prioritize reaching the least reached, training leaders for the global church, making disciples and planting churches, as well as helping the poor and displaced, particularly women and children. How can someone get involved? Stop by the Connection Point today to find out about volunteer opportunities and being a prayer partner. Neighbors International Calvary church’s International college student ministry is NOW RECRUITING for this year’s Friendship Family program. We are looking for families and individuals over the age of 30 who have the gift of hospitality and wish to befriend one of the many international college students who arrive in our city each fall. The leadership team will be in the connection point next Sunday September 9 and also in front of the Cafe area September 16, which will also be the last day we will be accepting applications. Prayers of the People During our next sermon series in Isaiah, we will be incorporating an extended time of prayer, Prayers of the People, during the Sunday morning service and are looking for different individuals in the congregation to pray each week. THIS MORNING Boiler Room Prayer 8:50-11:50am | Room 222 Pray over every aspect of the service as the Holy Spirit leads, assisted by a request sheet composed by staff. Language Translation Details During the 9:00 service, the songs and sermon are interpreted into Farsi. At 10:45, the worship service is interpreted into both Korean and Arabic. Anyone needing interpretation can pick up a receiver at the Welcome Center.
ANNUAL MEETING September 16 | 6:00pm | Sanctuary If you consider Calvary to be your church home, this meeting is for you! Come participate in this important time as we celebrate how God has moved at Calvary Church over the last year. Childcare will be provided (birth through age four). All Calvary attendees are encouraged to attend, however only members may vote. Absentee ballots are available at the Chapel Information Center. Nominees for elder and deacon are included in the Fall Calvary Life.
Calvary Equip Calvary Equip is a series of classes offered on Sundays and Wednesdays. Equip provides opportunities to learn faith-enriching practices, equipping you to engage more fully with the church. A full list of classes being offered this semester is at calvarygr.org/ equip. Monday Night Bible Study 7:00-8:30pm | Chapel | $20 Register at mycalvarygr.org Monday Night Bible Study combines small group discussion with 30-minutes of large group teaching for both men and women. Small groups are gender specific. This year, we will embark on a journey to discover the treasure in the Old Testament book of Isaiah using the Revealed study. We officially start September 17 but you can join us any time in the year.
Women’s Bible Study Begins September 18 | 9:15am Gathering Place | $20 Join women this fall for growth in God’s Word, prayer, worship
and community. We invite you to join us as we discover ways the LORD is Revealed through imagery found in the book of Isaiah. This same study will be offered in a condensed format on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:45pm. Children can participate in Tuesday Kids (for free!), during morning study, or Kids-N-Action on Wednesdays. Register at mycalvarygr.org. Caregivers Needed - Daytime Ministry Opportunity Calvary offers two opportunities during the week for moms with small children: Calvary MOPS and Tuesday Bible Study. We need caregivers for children under age six, so that mom can attend Bible Study or MOPS. Contact Donna (
