weekly focus: tanzania team update

congregational care

As a church, we partner with the Mwanza Bible Institute in Tanzania. The Bible Institute has three levels of learners, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 with the final goal of pastoring their own flock once graduated. When visiting Tanzania, we also spend time with the local ladies and wives of the students engaging them in a short Bible Study and teaching sewing. Our Short-Term Missions Team who went to Tanzania from January 17-29 has had time to process their trip and today would like to share a short synopsis about their trip.

RECENTLY HOSPITALIZED PRAYER LIST If you have been hospitalized, or anticipate hospitalization, and would like to be added to the prayer list, please call the church office at 956-9377.

The Team For our team of seven, the missions experience was truly a demonstration of God’s sovereign power to orchestrate blessing after blessing for the Mwanza Bible Institute and for us. He welded our team together as a single unit with a single purpose The Mwanza Bible Institute When students were asked to speak on what they had gleaned through the teaching, many lengthy comments evidenced their thoughtfulness and attention to the instruction. One third year student put Eric Cerling’s theology for doxology, Steve Rowan’s Inductive Bible study, Isaac Mangione’s confession of faith and Don Marrell’s devotion in chapel all together in one rhythmic statement. Ministering to Women The women’s conference ended with an immense blessing as well through impromptu singing of lovely and lively praise songs in Swahili. I can still hear the way they switched leaders and all answered back in a harmony unscripted and beautiful. Thank You Calvary We thank you for your prayers and support as we served these gracious people. It could not have happened without your involvement.
