Bibles & Burgers To celebrate the end of the Sunday school semester, Family Ministries will be hosting a picnic TODAY, here at Central, from 4-6:30pm. We are very excited to spend this time together eating dinner and celebrating as we kick off our summer activities. All Kid Central and Student Central students and their families are invited! Karen Brown, Director of Family Ministries at Central, said that her favorite definition of family comes from the Merriam Webster dictionary: "a group of people united by certain convictions or a common affiliation." Karen is overjoyed to have been blessed in her role with Family Ministries by so many here at Central who share her conviction to increase our influence on the younger generation for Jesus. This upcoming picnic is a time for all of us to celebrate and express our joy in our shared conviction to love and support the younger generation here at Central. Whether you are a parent, a grandparent, a Sunday school teacher, or small group leader, you are family. If you have ever taken the time to greet a child who sits in your pew, to encourage a young

parent, or to share a laugh with a group of teens in the Fellowship Hall, you are family too! This picnic is for all our family here at Central, so come and join us for a joyful afternoon. There will be many fun activities for all to enjoy such as lawn games, face painting, and a cake walk. We will also enjoy great food. We will provide grilled hot dogs and burgers as well as buns, condiments, and paper products. If your last name begins with A-L, please bring a side dish (with serving utensils). If your name begins with M-Z, please bring a dessert (with serving utensils). Please also bring your own drinks/water bottles. After dinner, we will have a ceremony to recognize our students who are graduating from high school and going off to college, and we will also have a Bible gift ceremony for rising 2nd and 6th graders. For more information on the picnic or our upcoming summer activities, contact Jenn Anderson (janderson@ centralpres.com or 314-7272777).

Summer Worship Schedule Everywhere you look, there are signs that summer is near. Our kids are in their last days of school for the year, and our college students are returning home. The baseball season is underway, and the hockey season is deep into the Stanley Cup playoffs (Let's Go Blues!). With our Sunday school classes on hiatus for the summer, Central will be observing a modified worship schedule starting June 2. The first service will begin at 9am, followed by the second service at 10:45. We will continue to offer a time to visit and get a cup of coffee or snack in the Fellowship Hall from 8:30am until the start of the second service. The summer worship schedule will continue through Labor Day. On September 8 we will return to the current schedule of 8:30 and 11:15 worship services, with a 10am Sunday school hour. We hope this summer schedule is a blessing to you and allows you to enjoy a slightly slower pace.

Summer Bible Studies Looking to dive into the Word this summer? New Bible studies on Wednesday nights from 6-7:30pm begin June 12. These are a great opportunity to meet other brothers and sisters in Christ as well as to dive further into God's word. Bob Denckhoff and Travis Martin will lead a men’s Bible study in the Gathering Place. The topic for the summer study will be the book of 2 Corinthians. Jamie Afshari and Linda Farley will lead a women’s Bible study group in meeting room 2C on the second floor of the Student Center. The topic for the summer study will be the exciting story of the prophet Elijah in the book of 1 Kings. Another Bible study opportunity is the Singles 50+ Mosaic class. Beginning on Saturday, June 8, at 3pm, they will discover and appreciate their spiritual gifts, providing an opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and to enhance the effectiveness of their ministry. Registration is open until May 28. For more information on these studies, or to register, visit centralpres.com/ summer.
