ONCC

"I'd like to find a Bible study that meets on Tuesdays and offers childcare, but don't know where to start."

Central’s Officer Nominating Committee of the Congregation (ONCC) is now accepting your nominations of qualified individuals for the offices of elder and deacon, as well as candidates from the congregation to serve on the ONCC next year. The deadline for nominations is Sunday, July28.

"What was the last name of that person I sat next to in Sunday school last week?" "What opportunities are there to serve at the church that fit my talents and gifts?" In a church the size of Central, finding your fit, staying informed, and making connections can be difficult. myCentral is a gret resource to make a big church feel a bit smaller. It will help you keep up-to-date with ministry groups, find service opportunities, register for events, and more. Did you know with myCentral you can track your contribution and download giving statements? You can also find volunteer opportunities matched to your personal gifts and abilities. myCentral also serves as a church directory. With an easy-to-use search option, finding any Central member is easy. myCentral is a terrific

resource to help put faces with names, but don't worry if you don't have a good photo to put on your profile! Today, between services, we will be taking your photos to upload onto myCentral. Stop by the Gathering Place today! myCentral is not another form of social media, but instead, it is an opportunity for our church to stay informed, help us grow, and keep us connected with one another. Perhaps best of all, it is easy to learn, and whether you choose to use it a lot or a little, it can be a great resource. We also encourage you to log in today by visiting www. centralpres.com/mycentral and explore all the system has to offer if you have not before. It is secure, easy to use, and accessible from any webenabled device. If you have technical questions or have not yet logged in, please contact us at [email protected].

The ONCC process is a wonderful opportunity to have a voice in selecting our next classes of elders and deacons. It is also easy to make a nomination. First, please read and pray through what God’s word says about church leaders in 1 Timothy 3:1-12 and in Titus 1:6-9.

From Centreat to KNO For many years, vacation Bible school at Central was held at Centreat--a property in Town & Country with open fields for capture the flag and pools for swimming and enjoying warm summer days in St. Louis. Looking back at Centreat, there are many fond memories. Cher Curtis said: "My personal favorite memories are the vacation Bible schools in the 90s. My all time favorite was 1996 'Kingdom of the Son' that we did together with Sunshine mission based on the Lord’s Prayer."

If you or someone you know is interested in serving Central as an Elder or Deacon, please visit www.centralpres.com/ officer-qualifications for more information on officer qualifications as well as to access an online form to submit nominations. We ask that you ask the nominee for their approval in advance before submitting their name.

Centreat was eventually sold to Westminster Christian Academy, and VBS at Central has changed a lot since. We now offer Kids' Night Out, a onceper-week, month-long VBS experience where kids get to learn more about God's word through thematic skits, lessons, and music. The legacy of VBS outreach has also continued through Harvest ministry and the refugee kids they bring to KNO.

Paper ballots will also be available at both the Hanley and Davis entrances. Thank you for your prayer and participation in this important process!

We praise God for his faithfulness through the years, from Centreat to KNO, and we look forward to what he has in store in the future.
