Monday, June 27, 2011 Merrick Community Services Presents the Dick McCarthy Award to Ruth Anderson, Vice President of Business Services of AgriBank, FCB
Earlier this month, Ruth Anderson, VP Business Services at AgriBank, FCB was awarded the Dick McCarthy award for valued support and tireless effort on behalf of Merrick Community Services. This award is presented once a year to an individual who has contributed significantly to the organization. According to Donna Legato of Merrick Community Services , “There are over 500 people who volunteer at Merrick and they are the lifeblood of the organization. It is often thought of as a cliché to say we couldn’t do our work without volunteers, but no statement could be more true. Ruth Anderson has been involved with the Merrick Food Drive held during each spring, for a number of years.” Ruth Anderson coordinated the AgriBank committee who executed the entire event which included featured food days throughout the month of March hosted by different AgriBank departments, raising awareness of hunger in our community while also raising funds. This year alone, in a one month period, Ruth’s passion for MCS helped raised over $39,000 for MCS food shelves inside AgriBank, FCB. Bill York, AgriBank CEO, states, “AgriBank has a long history of involvement in community services. Each year Merrick Community Services makes a difference in the lives of St. Paul families.
