CONTAGIOUS GENEROSITY THE HEART OF GENEROSITY November 21/22, 2015 For Starters 1. Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged you or raised questions? 2. What is the most generous thing someone has done for you? Why was it so generous?

Digging In 1. What creates a generous heart? What created generous hearts in the Macedonian church in 2 Corinthians 8:1-9? 2. Read 2 Corinthians 8:4. What is this verse communicating? Why is this so astounding? 3. Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-8. What are the three types of givers Paul describes in verse 7? If you are a cheerful giver, how can you sustain that? If you would not describe yourself as a cheerful giver, how could you become a cheerful giver? 4. What are the results from being a cheerful and generous giver? Look to 2 Corinthians 9:8-15 for help here.

Bringing it Home 1. How can the gospel of grace cultivate a life of generosity in your life? 2. What change would it make if you saw every financial blessing from the Lord as an opportunity to raise your standard of giving and not standard of living? 3. How is the way you are using your finances proclaiming that your treasure is Jesus and not anything in this world? 4. Would you trust God to supply all your needs and to bless the world by living with open hands? What would that trust really look that? What is holding you back?
