Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church Job Description Job Title:

Church Receptionist

Division/Department:

CCBC/Full Time Position

Reports To:

Executive Pastor

Job Summary: The first person most visitors encounter and is responsible for greeting and assisting them in a warm, caring and hospitable manner. We believe that this position is highly important to our church. The successful candidate will be a pleasant, dependable, multi-tasking individual who is self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong communication skills. The receptionist also answers general questions about services or office hours and is knowledgeable about church facilities, events and activities and about organizations using the church property.

Essential Functions:                

Answer phone, screen and direct calls Take and relay messages Be knowledgeable on all church events and provide information to callers or visitors Greet persons entering the church and direct to correct destination Perform opening and closing procedures daily for the Church Office General administrative and clerical support Collect and distribute parcels and other mail Order sermon CD’s and DVD’s and call for pick up Ring up bookstore sales Order, check in and maintain bookstore inventory Check out and check in Bible Study materials Order toner and supplies for copy machines Ensure reception area is tidy Relieve Administrative Staff of any administrative or clerical work whenever possible Provide various Church Staff with administrative support Work in Church Office every 6th Sunday

Job Requirements and Personal Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma Job Skills: Good people skills; Task oriented; Capable of handling multiple tasks at one time; Ability to problem solve and create solutions; Proficient knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn new programs; Good leadership skills; Strong administrative and organizational skills; Must be dependable, discreet, friendly and professional; Must have a desire to help and serve others.

Personal Qualifications: Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ with consistent evidence of fruit in their personal life; Motivated to serve God in a ministry; Ability to consistently use good judgment.

Other Information:   

Monday – Friday, 8:30a – 4:30p, 40 hrs per week Vacation and Leave Accrual and Holiday Pay No Medical Benefits
