Director of Nursery and Paid Childcare Ministry

Division/Department:

CCBC/Part Time Position

Reports To:

Early Childhood Associate (under the overall direction of the Children’s Pastor and Senior Staff)

Job Summary: The Director of Nursery and Paid Childcare ministry will be a servant-hearted follower of Christ, who loves children and families with a calling to equip them for ministry. This person is a leader within the church and will serve as team member of the early childhood ministry staff, bringing enthusiastic and spirit-filled leadership to weekly nursery and childcare ministries. Responsibilities include leading all aspects of the ministry, recruiting, scheduling and developing volunteers and paid childcare workers, selecting/developing curriculum and classroom materials.

Essential Functions:            

Demonstrate a vital and growing faith in Jesus Christ. Champion the doctrine, mission and vision of Cottonwood Creek Church and its leadership. Be a positive influencer and encourager of families, volunteers, staff and paid workers. Be an energetic ministry leader, with a passion for reaching and connecting parents and volunteers. Greet parents, children, volunteers and guests with love and enthusiasm. Develop a safe and inviting environment for children, parents, volunteers and workers to grow in Christ. Communicate vision (“the why”), recruit, interview, train, schedule and connect with volunteers and paid childcare workers Prepare Biblical curriculum and programming for Sunday nursery and all childcare (nursery-5th grade) support Be an enthusiastic team member to help ensure the success of other church ministries. Coordinate with Kid Care on shared space and resource matters. Communicate to effectively highlight all ministry events via email, social media, website, texting, print, etc. Provide stewardship over paid childcare workers’ timekeeping and reporting for payroll purposes.

Job Requirements and Personal Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma Job Skills: Proficient on Microsoft Office. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a mind for attention to detail. Ability to swiftly learn new computer applications and databases. Able to adapt quickly to changing ministry requirements. Personal Qualifications: Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ with consistent evidence of fruit in their personal life; Motivated to serve God in a ministry; Ability to consistently use good judgment.

Other Information: The candidate will fill a part-time ministry position (30 hours per week) that involves office hours on weekdays, nursery ministry hours on Sunday mornings and childcare hours on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, Friday mornings (twice a month), and at other times required to support church ministries. Special events require additional hours, as assigned. The Nursery/ Paid Childcare Director supervises the Paid Childcare Coordinator/ Curriculum Coordinator and the Babies Coordinator/ Toddler Coordinator.
