Purpose 1.1

Scope 2.1

3.

4.

This policy applies to all students enrolled in an IFSS course.

Authenticity and Currency 3.1

Assessment of competency in VET assumes current competency. Currency and authenticity is usually established through direct observation, controlled assessment conditions, or peer or third party reports.

3.2

Students are required to complete their work within a reasonable timeframe, and under observable conditions to ensure both currency and authenticity.

Encouraging Completion 4.1

5.

The International Film School Sydney (IFSS) aims to provide a quality training and educational environment while encouraging students to satisfy all criteria for completion of their qualification in a timely manner.

Students will be given reasonable access to IFSS facilities for two months after their enrolment ceases for completion of assessment work.

Assessment and Course Completion Deadlines 5.1

To be eligible for completion of their qualification, students must submit all assessment work no later than the end of the semester immediately following the student’s last enrolment period. Assessors will then review the work and present final results at the following Assessment Panel meeting.

5.2

Students seeking to submit assessment work after this deadline must apply for their work to be assessed under the IFSS Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) procedures. Standard fees apply. Units of competency already completed by students do not need to be re-assessed. Refer to the Student Handbook for details.
