Description/Suspect Information

Kicked in Security door to building.

Officers responded to the 16000 Block of Oxley to investigate a possible B & E of the Building. Suspects were described as 2- B/M's. One was wearing a light blue hoodie and the other was wearing a yellow shirt. The suspects reportedly kicked open the locked security door leading into the building. Officers arrived and made contact with subject that fit the description sitting on the porch in the 16000 Block of Oxley. The subject was wearing a yellow sweater and the witness confirmed that this subject was the one that kicked in the security door. This subject was arrested for B&E. On 10/01/2014 at approximately 8:10am, Officers responded to residence for a Home Invasion in progress. Suspect pushed his way into apartment. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never open their doors unless they have positively identified the person that is at the door. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Victim heard a knock at the door. When the victim looked out the peephole, she observed that it was covered. She advised the person to uncover the Peep hole. Victim thought it was the furnace maintenance person and opened the door. At this point an intoxicated subject attempted to enter victim’s apartment. Victim refused and told him to go away. As victim was attempting to close the door, subject started pushing on the door and in the process he crossed the threshold into the apartment. Victim was able to close and lock the door, keeping subject out. Officer’s investigation revealed that the intoxicated subject is a resident that security had contact with earlier in the day. The subject was intoxicated and pulled a security sign down and scratched a door to another apartment before security was able to get subject and take him back to his apartment. Officers were unable to locate subject at this time. The suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.

On Sunday September 28, 2014, 8:00pm victim parked his vehicle at his residence. At approximately 9:00pm victim discovered the vehicle was no longer in the spot he left it and it was unable to be located. Victim states his 2014 Ford Taurus was stolen sometime between 8:00pm and the following morning at 7:00am. Victim stated he had a club on the steering wheel and another that runs from the brake to the steering wheel. Victim has had this car for less than 2 months. The vehicle is black with purple pin striping. Vehicle was recovered by Michigan State Police

(MSP) on 10/01/2014 at 9:00am in Detroit. No Arrests. Vehicle is missing all 4 wheels and tires. Damage to the driver side rear window, rear bumper, and gear shift. 10/01/2014 11:56am

Rep. advised that suspect failed to return the vehicle after several phones calls and a registered letter was sent to lessor. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.

Reporting Party (R/P) advised the vehicle was parked at her sister’s house which the neighbor last seen on 10/01/2014 at approx.6:00pm. R/P advised she observed the vehicle missing on 10/02/2014 at 10:00am.

Victim believes the service repairman their apartments unless who was inside the apartment took the items. they are there during the Victim stated no one was home at the time the repairs! >>>>>>>>>>> repairman was inside fixing things, but he did get permission from her boyfriend who resides there to enter.

Victim advises she pulled up to school at approx. 7:10am to drop her kids off. Manager for Apartments advises an A/C Unit, 2 1/2 ton had been discovered stolen on 9-29-2014 from the north side of the 29000 Block of Lancaster Dr.

Victim states that on 09/29/14 at approx. 2:00pm she left her apartment and stayed at a hotel because there was a company coming out to spray her unit for bed bugs. Victim had hidden some cash prior to leaving the apartment. When victim returned to her apartment the following day she discovered the money was missing. Victim suspects worker from Pest Control. Victim stated she dropped her 2013 Ford Escape off to get service done at her dealership. Victim picked her vehicle up the following day and discovered she was missing her sunglasses and some misc. change. The sunglasses were in a case in the middle console and the change was in the cup holder.

Victim advises he left his hotel room at 11:30am and went to the front desk to purchase the room for another night. When victim returned to the room it had been cleaned and all of his belongings were gone. Victim complained to management. The manager checked with housekeeping and some but not all of victim’s belongings were recovered. Victim was upset and punched a hole in the hotel room wall. The Hotel doesn’t wish to prosecute victim for damage to Hotel Room.

Snow Blower, Power Washer, Space Heater & Several Bags of Salt,

Manager for Apartment Complex advises that several items were stolen from a storage shed at the location this morning. Manager advised that there was a trail of salt leading from the shed to a location where a moving truck was parked that morning. A former tenant moved out of her apartment and had a moving truck that was parked at the location near the shed where the salt trail ended. Former tenant had two males helping her move. Manager advised that she did not witness the theft but believes that the former tenant or the men that were with her stole the items. Incident is under investigation. Victim states her cell phone was stolen out of her Teacher’s desk drawer on Monday September 29, 2014 sometime between 11:20am & 2:20pm. No suspect information.

Cell Phone was taken.

Reporting Party (R/P) states around 3:10am they were looking at some video and noticed some wheels were missing. R/P states that he and other employees drove into work and they were watching the lot. R/P states that they observed suspect go over the fence and into the lot west of theirs. R/P states that was when they called PD. Officers searched the lot but didn’t locate anybody. Officers did locate numerous rims, starters and other items in the wood line next to Berg Rd. (Staged for easy pick up) Victim (Maintenance) advises he was doing work in vacant apartment. He left his cell phone in the living room charging and playing music. He then noticed that he did not hear the music anymore and when he went to the living room the phone was missing. Victim checked the area and located a young B/F close by. The female advised victim that she had seen a young B/M in the hallway earlier. At this time a Larceny of Cell Phone was taken. Later this same day at approximately 12:30pm, Officers responded back to this location to meet with victim who had possible suspect information regarding the earlier Larceny. Victim stated he heard male and female voices from an occupied apartment talking and making admissions about taking a cell phone. Officers made contact at this apartment with a young female at this apartment. The young female made admissions that she took victims

cell phone and the cell phone was recovered. (Same female that victim had originally talked to after discovering his cell phone missing) Another Southfield Officer had taken a Home Invasion Report earlier this day of a Laptop & Cash inside a piggy bank. Officers while still on scene at this apartment observed a silver laptop and a plastic jar of change lying in plain view, in the living room. The young female did not admit to taking the laptop or the change, but stated that she was keeping it for an unknown male friend. The laptop and change were confiscated and recovered. The young female was taken into custody for the Larceny of Cell Phone. Victims Chevy Impala had its Wheels & Tires stolen. The vehicle was parked in the underground parking of the Apartment Complex. No time frame available at this time. Victim (student) stated her cell phone was stolen at school. On 10/3/2014 around 3:00pm victim stated she had her phone on the floor charging. Around 3:45pm victim left the area leaving her phone unattended and charging. At 4:17pm victim returned and discovered her phone was gone.

Tips:  Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight.  Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly  Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

Victim advises she went to her car this morning and discovered All Four Wheels & Tires had been stolen and left on landscaping blocks. Victim last saw the vehicle intact the night before at 10:00pm. Victim advises a clear box containing a variety of jewelry were stolen from her apartment. Victim also had a cloth bag stolen that contained numerous other items of jewelry. No signs of force on apartment.

3- Cell Phones were taken. Officers responded to Larceny of Cell Phone just occurred. One suspect was wearing a black hoodie and the other was wearing a gray hoodie. Three cell phones were taken from two victims. Victims were walking home from store when two males waked up behind them and robbed them of their cell phones. One of the suspects showed what victims believed was the butt of a handgun and demanded they empty their pockets. Both victims gave up their cell phones to suspects. The suspects then fled on foot. One of the victims took off after the suspects and it was later discovered that he knew the suspects and was in on the robbery. Contact was made with this subject at his residence and he stated that he caught up to suspects and they gave him his cellphone back because they felt sorry for him. They did not however return other victims phone? Several possible suspects were located in the 24000 Block of North Carolina. The victim was brought to this location and the two suspects were positively identified by victim. These two subjects were arrested for Armed Robbery. Officers recovered two cell phones and other evidence linking the suspects to the incident.

The subject that staged being a victim and ran after suspects was also arrested for Armed Robbery. Tips:  Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police.  If something doesn’t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately  Trust your intuition

Unarmed Robbery: 10/03/2014 3:22pm

26000 American Dr. (Hotel)

Cash was taken.

Victim stated she had been assaulted by two people that she was staying with at the hotel. Victim stated the assault started over her money. Victim stated Suspect#1 (S-1) (female) came up behind her and started to choke her with both hands. Victim tried to turn around. S-1 started to punch her in the face with a closed fist. Suspect#2 (S-2) (male) then started to punch victim as well with a closed fist. The suspects continued to assault victim and took her cash during the assault. Victim advises the two suspects then sexually assaulted her. Both suspects eventually fell asleep and victim was able to leave the room and called 911. Officers arrived on scene located both suspects, established probable cause for arrest and both suspects were arrested for Assault & Battery, Unarmed Robbery and Sexual Assault.

Possession of Marijuana/ Driving While License Suspended (DWLS) 09/30/2014 (20000 Block of Greenfield Rd.) Officer observed suspicious activity, possible attempted drug sales in the parking lot. Subsequent investigation revealed driver was suspended, vehicle registration was fraudulent and driver was in possession of Marijuana. Driver was arrested for DWLS & Possession of Marijuana.

Operate While Impaired (OWI) 09/30/2014

1- Arrest

(10 Mile Rd. & Evergreen Rd.) Officer responded to report of a slumped subject in a vehicle. Upon arrival investigation revealed that the subject was an intoxicated driver passed out behind the wheel in the roadway. The driver was subsequently arrested for OWI.

2- 21000 Greenview Rd. 09/29/2014 Between 5:00pm- 12:00am Ford Explorer 3- 25000 Block of W Eight Mile Rd. (Apartments) From: 09/30/2014 8:00pm To: 10/01/2014 7:00am Ford Taurus

Robbery Not Armed/ Sexual Assault (CSC) 10/02/2014 26000 Block of American Dr. (Hotel) Officers dispatched reference an assault, further investigation revealed an unarmed robbery, assault and attempt CSC1 by a male and a female suspect. Male suspect fled the scene and was later located nearby and apprehended. Female suspect was apprehended at the scene. See Details Above in Unarmed Robbery Section.

Possession With Intent Deliver Heroin (PWID) 10/04/2014 27000 Block of Northwestern (Hotel) Officers developed information that there was possible narcotic activity at the Hotel. Through investigation a search warrant was obtained for several rooms. A male subject was arrested for PWID after heroin was discovered along with packaging materials.

Operate While Impaired/ Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated/ Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. 10/04/2014 29000 Block of Northwestern (Night Club) Officer was conducting a Property Inspection at the Night Club and heard a single gunshot come from the area. He was informed that the gunshot was fired from a vehicle that had just exited the parking lot. The vehicle was located and stopped. Investigation revealed that the driver was Operating his vehicle while Impaired, In possession of a firearm, and admitted to firing his handgun in the air. The handgun was located in the vehicle. The driver was a CPL holder and was arrested. Other passengers also had outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions.

Operate While Impaired- 1- Arrest 10/04/2014 I-696/ Evergreen Rd. Officer stopped a vehicle for speeding and upon speaking with the driver he could smell a strong odor of intoxicants coming from him. After conducting an investigation the driver was arrested for OWI and lodged.
