Crossrail Farringdon Eastern Ticket Hall Bridge Link to Barbican Station – 23 January to 26 January 2015 Thank you for your patience whilst we build the new Crossrail Farringdon Eastern ticket hall. We have commenced a series of works to enable us to install the connecting step free access link bridge between the new Crossrail Farringdon Eastern Ticket Hall and Barbican station.

To carry out the work safely and with minimal disruption, Crossrail is undertaking works at the same time London Underground has planned engineering works, when the tube is suspended. Please note that the Metropolitan Line will be partially closed, and there will be no service between Baker Street and Aldgate Stations over the weekend. Phase 1 – Site set up progress and works planned for 23-26 January 2015

Duration of work • Phase 1 commences January 2015, during London Underground weekend possessions. Includes 24/7 working from Friday night until Monday morning: 23-26 January 06-09 February • Weekday working during core hours (08:00 – 18:00) • Phase 2 commences as from April 2015

• Complete demolition of the disused signal hut roof, • Breaking out and removal of the existing platforms (2&3) to enable the installation of the permanent hoarding and foundations in the platform for the bridge structure, • Installation of permanent hoarding.

What to expect • Some noisy periods from the breaking out of the platforms and demolition of the signal hut

What we will do • Acoustic screening will be used to reduce the noise impact from the works • Vehicle and pedestrian access will be unaffected

Temporary hoarding Platforms 2 & 3, Barbican Station

• Noise and dust monitoring will be ongoing during the duration of the works • Work areas will be securely fenced off

We apologise in advance should this work cause any disturbance. If you do have a complaint or query, please contact the Crossrail Helpdesk number listed below. The works will require the use of a crane positioned on Hayne Street bridge to lift materials and equipment to site. Excavators with hydraulic breakers will operate on the tracks at Barbican station to demolish sections of the platform and install foundations for the site hoarding. Another site will also be established at 33-37 Charterhouse Square to facilitate deliveries required for these works. Public notices in relation to these works will be placed on the Crossrail hoardings situated on the platforms to further inform members of the public. Works will be carried out in accordance with permission and consents granted by the respective Local Authorities. Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience and we thank you in advance for your patience.

We will update you on planned works for the week commencing 6 to 9 February 2015 in due course.
