Crossrail Farringdon Eastern Ticket Hall Bridge Link to Barbican Station Works, 6 to 9 February 2015 Thank you for your patience whilst we build the new Crossrail Farringdon eastern ticket hall. Preparatory works are underway to enable us to install the connecting step free access link bridge between the new ticket hall and Barbican station. To carry out the works safely and with minimal disruption, we are carrying out these works at the same time London Underground has planned engineering works, when the tube operation is suspended. Please note that the Metropolitan Line will be partially closed, and there will be no service between Baker Street and Aldgate Stations over the weekend. Phase One – Site set up progress and works planned for 6-9 February 2015 • Demolition 80% complete. Complete demolition of disused signal hut, • Breaking out and removal of sections of existing platforms (2 & 3) to enable the installation of the permanent hoarding and foundations in the platform for the bridge structure, • Installation of permanent hoarding.

Duration of work • Phase One commenced January 2015, during London Underground weekend possessions, including 24 hour working from Friday night until Monday morning 6-9 February
• Week day working during core hours (08:00 – 18:00) • Phase 2 commences April 2015
What to expect • Some noisy periods from the breaking out of the platforms and demolition of the signal hut
What we will do • Acoustic screening will be used to reduce the noise impact from the works • Vehicle and pedestrian access will be unaffected

The works will require the use of a crane positioned on Hayne Street bridge to lift materials and equipment to site. Excavators with hydraulic breakers will operate on the tracks at Barbican station to demolish sections of the platform and install foundations for the site hoarding. Another site will also be established at 33-37 Charterhouse Square to facilitate deliveries required for these works by Mid 2015. Public notices in relation to these works will be placed on the Crossrail hoardings situated on the platforms to further inform members of the public. Works will be carried out in accordance to permission and consents granted by the respective local authorities.
